Abstract
Diabetes melitus yaitu penyakit kronik yang berhubungan dengan peningkatan kadar glukosa dalam darah. Konseling kalori merupakan suatu kegiatan pertemuan dan diskusi antara klien dan konselor untuk menyelesaikan masalah terkait konsumsi kalori untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes melitus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh konseling kalori terhadap kepatuhan diet penderita DM di Posyandu Tunas Harapan Dusun Semanding. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasy experiment dengan design pre test, post test, dan control group. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 40 responden, dengan dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu 20 responden dalam kelompok intervensi dan 20 responden dalam kelompok kontrol (pembanding). Kelompok intervensi dilakukan konseling sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan, sedangkan kelompok kontrol (pembanding) tidak diberikan intervensi. Berdasarkan hasil uji Independent Samples Test menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok kontrol dan intervensi dalam mengkonsumsi kalori dengan nilai yaitu Alpha (0,26) > 0,05 dan hasil uji paired samples T Test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara konsumsi kalori sebelum dan setelah dilakukan konseling kalori. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh konseling kalori terhadap kepatuhan diet konsumsi kalori pada penderita DM, dengan terdapat beberapa faktor yang mennyebabkan konseling kalori tidak mempengaruhi kepatuhan diet yaitu usia, pekerjaan, dukungan keluarga, dan pendidikan. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah penelitian sebaiknya dilakukan dengan melibatkan keluarga untuk menambah dukungan dan motivasi pada penderita diabetes melitus.
English Abstract
Diabetes mellitus was a chronic disease associated with elevated levels of glucose in the blood. Calorie counseling was an activity of meeting and discussion between client and counselor to problem solving related with calorie consumption to improve diet compliance in people with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to identify the influence of calorie counseling on dietary adherence of DM patients in Posyandu Tunas Harapan Dusun Semanding. This research used quasi experiment method with pre test design, post test, and control group. The respondents were 40 respondents, divided into 2 groups, 20 respondents in the intervention group and 20 respondents in the control group (comparison). The intervention group conducted 4 counseling meetings, while the control group (comparison) was not given intervention. Based on Independent Samples T Test result showed that there was no significant difference between control group and intervention in consuming calorie with value that is Alpha (0,26)> 0,05 and result of paired samples T test showed that there is difference between calorie consumption before and after calorie counseling. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there influence of calorie counseling on dietary compliance of caloric consumption in DM patient, with there were several factors that cause calorie counseling does not affect dietary compliance that was age, occupation, family support, and education. Suggestions for further research was that research should involving families to increase support and motivation in diabetes mellitus patients.
