Abstract
Masa awal kehidupan anak dikenal dengan periode emas karena terjadi proses tumbuh kembang yang sangat cepat. Pemberian ASI pada periode ini menjadi salah satu pondasi utama agar anak tumbuh sehat, cerdas, dan produktif. ASI seharusnya segera diberikan setelah bayi lahir sampai berusia 6 bulan tanpa makanan tambahan apapun. Rendahnya ASI eksklusif dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang erat hubungannya seperti dukungan nenek dan tingkat pengetahuan ibu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan nenek dan tingkat pengetahuan ibu terhadap keberhasilan ASI eksklusif 6 bulan dalam keluarga extended family di Desa Jedong Kecamatan Wagir Kabupaten Malang tahun 2017. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu observasional analitik dengan metode pendekatan crosssectional terhadap 52 responden yang diambil menggunakan metode total sampling. Analisa data pada dukungan nenek diuji menggunakan Fisher’s Exact Test dengan p value = 0,001 dan tingkat pengetahuan ibu menggunakan uji Likelihood Ratio dengan p value = 0,003. Hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara dukungan nenek dan tingkat pengetahuan ibu terhadap keberhasilan ASI eksklusif 6 bulan dalam keluarga extended family.
English Abstract
The early life of a child is known as the golden period due to the rapid growth and intellectual development process. Breastfeeding is considered to be one of the main foundation for children to grow healthy, intelligent, and productive. The exclusive breastfeeding should be given to the baby in the six months of his birth without any other complementary food. The low number of exclusive breastfeeding can be influenced by several factors that are strongly related such as grandmother’s support and the mother’s level of knowledge. The aim of this research is to knowing the correlation between the grandmother’s support and the mother’s level of knowledge towards the success of six months of exclusive breastfeeding on the extended family in Jedong village, Wagir district, Malang regency in 2017. This research used observational analytical design with cross-sectional approach to 52 respondents which were taken using total sampling method. The data analysis on the grandmother’s support was tested by Fisher’s Exact Test with p value = 0,001 and the mother’s level of knowledge using Likelihood Ratio Test with p value = 0,003. From these findings, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive correlation between grandmother’s support and the mother’s level of knowledge towards the success of 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding on the extended family.
