Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini merumuskan salah satu metode bahwa melalui partisipasi di konferensi internasional bisa memperoleh wawasan program Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan Tahun 2030 yang dicanangkan organisasi Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa melalui Resolusi Majelis Umum PBB A/RES/70/1 pada tanggal 25 September 2015, dan khususnya mengenali elemen kontribusi dari bidang Teknologi Hasil Pertanian di dalam program tersebut. Kemudian juga memperoleh wawasan tentang kemampuan berdiplomasi (dialog, negosiasi, konsensus) oleh seseorang berlatar-belakang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang dikenal sebagai Diplomasi Sains. Program SDGs ini menggantikan program MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) yang dimulai tahun 2000 dan berakhir tahun 2015. Penulis menghadiri tiga konferensi internasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Lembaga PBB di New York dan Jenewa yang dirancang dalam bentuk simulasi model PBB pada bulan Februari, Mei dan Agustus 2017. Dua konferensi diselenggarakan di Markas Besar PBB, New York, Amerika Serikat yaitu WIMUN 2017 (WFUNA International Model United Nations), MUN Youth Assembly 2017 dan satu lagi di Kantor PBB, Jenewa, Swiss yaitu UA-MUNC 2017 (United Ambassador Model United Nations Conference). Berdasarkan analisa studi kasus dengan menggunakan Diagram Fishbone dan Diagram Why Tree, dan juga didukung hasil tinjauan pustaka dan diskusi dengan Delegasi lain selama konferensi maka penulis menyimpulkan bahwa bidang Teknologi Hasil Pertanian dapat berkontribusi (tindakan atau rekomendasi) terhadap usaha pencapaian Tujuan No.2, No.6, No.9, No.12, dan No.14 dari 17 Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan Tahun 2030. Penulis belajar tentang kemampuan ‘Diplomasi Sains’ saat melakukan pembahasan topik konferensi dengan Delegasi lain untuk pengesahan resolusi. Kemudian penulis juga berkesempatan belajar kemampuan untuk memimpin diskusi Delegasi dalam rangka pengesahan resolusi yaitu saat ditunjuk panitia menjadi Ketua Komite-3 dari konferensi. Pembelajaran selama menjadi Ketua Komite-3 tersebut sangat mendalam sehingga penulis memiliki kepercayaan diri untuk menerima tugas menjadi Ketua Penyelenggaraan Simulasi Sidang di Konferensi Internasional tentang Pendidikan dan Pemuda Islam (International Conference of Islamic Youth and Education) 2017 di Jakarta dan Bandung yang diselenggarakan oleh Kemenpora RI

English Abstract

The purpose of this study is to formulate one method that through participation in international conferences can gain insight into the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 program launched by the United Nations organization through UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/70/1 on September 25, 2015, and in particular recognizing element of contribution from the field of Agricultural Product Technology in the program. Then also gain insight into diplomatic abilities (dialogue, negotiation, consensus) by someone from a background in science and technology known as Science Diplomacy. This SDGs program replaces the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) program which began in 2000 and ended in 2015. The author attended three international conferences organized by the United Nations Institute in New York and Geneva which were designed in the form of UN model simulations in February, May and August 2017. Two conferences were held at UN Headquarters, New York, USA namely WIMUN 2017 (WFUNA International Model United Nations) and MUN Youth Assembly 2017. One conference was held at the United Nations Office, Geneva, Switzerland namely UA-MUNC 2017 (United Ambassador Model United Nations Conference). Based on the case study analysis using Fishbone Diagrams and Why Tree Diagrams, and also supported by the results of literature reviews and discussions with other Delegations during the conferences, the author conclude that the Agricultural Product Technology field can contribute (actions or recommendations) to efforts to achieve Goal No.2, No.6, No.9, No.12, and No.14 of 17 Sustainable Development Goals of 2030. The author learns about the ability of 'Science Diplomacy' when discussing the topic of the conference with other Delegations to approve the resolution. Then the writer also had the opportunity to learn the ability to lead the Delegation discussion in order to ratify the resolution when appointed by the committee to be the Chairperson of Committee-3 of the conference. The learning during being the Chairperson of Committee-3 was so profound that the writer had the confidence to accept the task of being Chair of the Assembly Simulation at the International Conference of Islamic Youth and Education 2017 in Jakarta and Bandung organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports
