Abstract
Brokoli merupakan tanaman sayuran berbentuk kuntum bunga (curd), berwarna hijau tua atau muda (Safaryani et al., 2007). Salah satu permasalahan pada budidaya brokoli ialah jumlah tunas lateral pada ketiak daun, apabila jumlah tunas lateral banyak, hal ini tidak akan menguntungkan secara ekonomi karena dapat mengecilkan ukuran bunga utama. Menurut Jaya (2009), pemangkasan cabang atau tunas lateral pada tanaman brokoli dapat mempercepat umur panen dan meningkatkan hasil tanaman. Perlu juga dikaji saat pemangkasan tunas lateral, apakah tunas lateral harus dihilangkan segera setelah dibentuk oleh tanaman atau harus menunggu sampai akhir fase vegetatif. Tujuan dari percobaan ini ialah untuk mengetahui tingkat waktu pemangkasan tunas lateral dan varietas yang mana yang terbaik agar tanaman brokoli mampu berproduksi secara maksimum. Hipotesis dari pecobaan ini ialah terdapat hubungan antara perlakuan pemangkasan tunas lateral dengan varietas, bahwa pemangkasan yang dilakukan akan memberikan pengaruh peningkatan pertumbuhan dan hasil pada tiga varietas tanaman brokoli. Penelitian dilaksanakan di desa Sumbergondo, kota Batu dengan ketinggian tempat ± 900 m dpl pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2016. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) yang terdiri dari terdiri dari beberapa perlakuan yaitu; (D1): Pemangkasan tunas lateral pada 21 hst, (D2): Pemangkasan tunas lateral pada 28 hst, (D3): Pemangkasan tunas lateral pada 35 hst. Serta faktor kedua ialah dengan menggunakan tiga varietas tanaman brokoli, yaitu; (V1): Varietas Ludy, (V2): Varietas Lucky, (V3): Varietas Green Magic. Masing-masing perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Pengamatan yang dilakukan yaitu meliputi pengamatan pertumbuhan yaitu, Leaf Area Index dan Crop Growth Rate. Sedangkan pada pengamatan panen antara lain bobot segar tanaman, diameter curd (bunga) brokoli, bobot segar curd (bunga) brokoli. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan sidik ragam atau uji F pada taraf 5% untuk mengetahui interaksi di antara perlakuan apabila terdapat pengaruh nyata maka akan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan pemangkasan tunas lateral dan varietas yang berbeda yang terbaik secara keseluruhan ialah pada 35 HST dan pengunaan varietas Green Magic. Pemangkasan tunas lateral diakhir masa fase vegetatif memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman brokoli. Terdapat interaksi pada perlakuan pemangkasan tunas lateral dan varietas yang berbeda pada hasil tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, Leaf Area Index dan bobot curd tanaman brokoli
English Abstract
Broccoli is a flowers shaped vegetable (curd), and it have dark green or light coloured (Safaryani et al., 2007). One of the problems in the cultivation of broccoli is the amount of lateral buds, when it had a lot number of lateral buds, it would not be economically advantageous because it can shrink the size of major curd. According to Jaya (2009), lateral buds pruning will be able to make harvesting faster than usual and increase crop yields. It should also be assessed the perfect time of lateral buds pruning, whether it must be removed immediately after being set up by the plants or having to wait until the end of the vegetative phase. The aim of this study is to know what time is the best time to do the pruning and which variety are the best for growth and yield of broccoli. The hypothesis of this study are there is a relation between pruning and the use of different variety. Research was conducted at the Sumbergondo village, Batu with altitude of ± 900 m above the sea level in May to July 2016. The experimental design used was Randomized Factorial Design, consisting several treatments, that was; (D1): pruning at 21 DAP, (D2): pruning at 28 DAP, (D3): pruning at 35 DAP. And the second factor are the use of three different broccoli variety; (V1): Ludy Variety, (V2): Lucky Variety, (V3): Green Magic Variety. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The observations made which includes observation of growth, that was; Leaf Area Index and Crop Growth Rate. While the harvest observations include plant fresh weight, curd diameter of broccoli, fresh weight curd of broccoli. Data obtained from observations were analyzed using ANOVA or F test at 5% level for the interaction between treatment if there is a real effect it will proceed with HSD test level of 5%. The results showed that the best treatment of lateral shoots and different varieties was at 35 HST and the use of Green Magic varieties. Trimming of lateral shoots at the end of the vegetative phase has an effect on the growth and yield of broccoli plants. There is an interaction on the treatment of lateral shoot pruning and different varieties on the yield of plants, number of leaves, Leaf Area Index and curd weight of broccoli plants.
