Abstract
PT.Behaestex merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang tekstil khususnya produk sarung dan busana muslim. Perusahaan memiliki gudang barang dalam proses yang terletak satu bagian dengan departemen quality assurance. Pada perusahaan ini terdapat permasalahan pada proses penyimpanan barang pada gudang masih dilakukan secara acak sesuai dengan ketersediaan ruang kosong pada area blok penyimpanan. Dalam penempatan pallet dilakukan secara horizontal berimpitan satu sama lain dengan membentuk suatu kumpulan pallet. Selain itu dalam penataan produk pada pallet, tumpukan produk memiliki ketinggian yang berbeda-beda antara dua sampai dengan tiga meter yang membuat operator kesulitan dalam menjangkau produk. Kondisi tersebut mengakibatkan tidak teraksesnya pallet pada bagian tengah dan pojok area blok penyimpanan yang berdampak pada berkurangnya efisiensi jarak dan waktu saat perpindahan material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan aksesibilitas pada gudang dengan sistem pallet racking serta mendesain dan memilih alternatif layout terbaik sebagai layout usulan. Pada tahap pendahuluan dimulai dengan melakukan studi lapangan, studi pustaka, perumusan masalah dan penentuan tujuan penelitian. Data yang dibutuhkan yaitu jenis dan dimensi produk, kapasitas penyimpanan, prosedur penyimpanan, urutan proses, hubungan kedekatan antar penyimpanan, alat material handling serta layout awal gudang. Pada tahap pengolahan data dilakukan analisis pada layout awal terkait utilitas, aksesibilitas, kapasitas dan jarak material handling. Setelah dilakukan analisis layout awal dilakukan perancangan sistem pallet racking, kebutuhan luas fasilitas serta melakukan perancangan dan pemilihan layout usulan. Pada perancangan layout dilakukan dengan melakukan input activity relationship chart kedalam BLOCPLAN yang menghasilkan lima usulan alternatif layout. Setiap alternatif layout memiliki nilai Adjacency score, R-score, dan Rel-dist score yang dijadikan sebagai kriteria pemilihan alternatif layout usulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rancangan sistem pallet racking dengan tipe standard pallet rack dengan tingkat satu kedalaman pallet dan tiga level penyimpanan. Penggunaan standard pallet rack dengan satu kedalaman mendukung dalam meningkatkan aksesibilitas karena produk dapat diakses langsung ketika dibutuhkan. Pada hasil rancangan rak, dapatkan jumlah total rack bays sebesar 124 unit untuk tipe pallet I dan 3 unit untuk tipe pallet II. Pada alternatif layout usulan memiliki utilitas luas sebesar 31,55%, utilitas volume sebesar 28,96%, perbandingan luas gang sebesar 43,30%, kapasitas gudang sebesar 1.989.540 unit, persentase aksesibilitas sebesar 100%, serta total jarak perpindahan sebesar 143.656,04 meter per bulan.
English Abstract
PT.Behaestex is a textile company which produce moslem clothes. The company has a work in process warehouse which is located in building of the quality assurance department. The problem with the company is the storing process in the warehouse that is still done randomly, which is done in according the availability of free space in storage area. Pallet arrangement is done horizontally, with the pallets coincide with each other by forming a group. Besides organizing goods over the pallet is done with height different of two up to three meters which makes operators in difficulties to reach the products. The condition of pallet inaccessibility in the middle and corner side of storage area are resulted in reduced efficiency of material handling distance and time needed. This study aims to know how to overcome the accessibility problem in work in process warehouse with pallet racking system and by designing and choosing the best layout alternative. The introduction stage was started with field observation, literature review, the making of formulation of the problem and determining the purpose of this study. The data needed are the type and dimension of the product, storage capacity, storage procedure, process sequence, relationship chart, material handling tools, and initial layout. The next stage, data processing, was carried out such as the analysis of initial layout related space utility, accessibility, capacity and material handling distance. After the analysis of initial layout, next step was to design pallet racking system, determine the space requirement of each facility, and make a new layout design. Designing a new layout was done by inputting the relationship chart to BLOCPLAN, which produces five alternative layouts. Each alternative layout has Adjacency score, R-score, and Rel-dist score that will be used as the criteria in alternative layout selection. The result of this study was the design of pallet racking system with the type of standard pallet rack with one pallet of depth and three level of storage. The using of standard pallet rack with one pallet of depth can support to improve percentage of accessibility because product can be accessed anytime needed. The design of type pallet I results in the total rack bays of 124 units, meanwhile the design of type pallet II only results in 3 units. The selected layout has 31,55% of utility space, 28,96% of volume space, 43,30% aisle comparison, 1.989.540 unit of warehouse capacity, 100% of accessibility, and 143.656,04 meters each month of material handling distance.
