Abstract

Pencemaran terjadi akibat pembuangan limbah peternakan tanpa mengalami proses pengolahan terlebih dahulu.

English Abstract

As one of natural resources, river water holds an important role in life. As the time goes, many of clean river water resources in Indonesia became polluted, one of them is Bango watershed in the city of Malang. The pollution occurred because of the untreated farm wastes disposal. The river water pollution could be treated using adsorption method with zeolites as adsorbent. The zeolite was phsically and chemically activated before it was used. The purposes of this research were to know how much of ammonia dan BOD concentration could be reducted by adsorption process, the efficiency of the process, and the effect of contact time factor and dosage of active zeolite adsorbent factor combination for reducting ammonia and BOD concentration in polluted water of Bango watershed. The research used complete randomized design as its method, with 4 treatment variations that combining between contact time factor and dosage of active zeolite adsorbent factor. The variations were : 2 grams of active zeolites and 30 minutes of contact time; 2 grams of active zeolites and 60 minutes of contact time; 4 grams of active zeolites and 30 minutes of contact time; 4 grams of active zeolites and 60 minutes of contact time. Based on the research, through the adsorption process ammonia concentration could be reducted from 15,71 mg/l to 14,101 mg/l up to 7,484 mg/l, and BOD concentration could be reducted from 731,1 mg/l to 704,433 mg/l up to 556,1 mg/l. The efficiency from adsorption process for reducting ammonia was 10,242 %, and up to 52,363 %. The efficiency from adsorption process for reducting BOD concentration was 3,647%, and up to xii 23,937 %. Based on the two way Anova test, the treatment variations made of contact time factor and dosage of active zeolite adsorbent factor combination used in this research were not signifficantly different, and didn’t give signifficant effect in reducting ammonia and BOD concentration.
