Abstract
Film Black Panther merupakan salah satu dari film yang dikeluarkan dari rumah produksi Marvel. Pada Januari tahun 2018 film Black Panther dipublish pertama kali untuk masyarakat. Film ini juga menjadi film superhero pertama buatan Marvel yang hampir seluruh aktor dan aktrisnya merupakan orang kulit hitam. Konflik cerita pada film ini berpusat pada perjuangan seorang T’Challa sebagai raja Wakanda untuk melindungi kerajaan dan rakyatnya dari serangan Erik Killmonger. Melindungi dan memajukan suatu bangsa merupakan salah satu contoh patriotisme. Patriotisme adalah semangat cinta tanah air atau sikap seseorang yang rela mengorbankan untuk kejayaan dan kemakmuran tanah airnya. Perubahan zaman membuat pergeseran makna dari patriotisme itu sendiri. Munculnya bentuk patriotisme dalam film Black Panther membuat masyarakat yang telah menonton film ini menirunya sehingga terbentuknya wacana sosial di Indonesia. Peneliti disini menggunakan analisis semiotika John Fiske untuk meneliti tanda-tanda patriotisme yang muncul dalam film Black Panther. Semiotika John Fiske didalamnya dibagi menjadi beberapa level, pertama level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi. Fokus penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah nilai dan bentuk patriotisme yang muncul pada karakter dan adegan dengan unit analisis data penampilan, perilaku, gerakan, dan dialog di film Black Panther. Dari penelitian ini, terdapat hasil level realitas yang merepresentasikan patriotisme terdapat pada kostum, gerakan, dan perilaku yang ditemukan dalam sequence preparation dan sequence strugle yang ditampilkan oleh karakter film Black Panther. Pada level representasi yang merepresentasikan patriotisme terdapat pada dialog-dialog yang dilakukan antar karakter. Dialog-dialog ini ditemukan pada sequence preparation, complication, strugle, dan return. Pada level ideologi, film Black Panther merepresentasikan patriotisme masih terikat pada posisi atau profesi suatu tokoh, menggunakan kekerasan, dan mementingkan tujuannya sendiri. Meskipun terdapat karakter yang juga memiliki jiwa patriotisme sejati. Sedangkan pada adegan film Black Panther terdapat representasi patriotisme antara lain, Mengadili penghianat kerajaan, Slogan Wakanda Forever, Melindungi Negara dan Harta Kekayaan, serta Rela Berkorban demi bangsa.
English Abstract
The film Black Panther is one of the films released from the Marvel production house. In January of 2018 the Black Panther film was first published for the public. The film also became Marvel's first superhero film that almost all actors and actresses are blacks. The story's conflict in the film centers on the struggle of a T'Challa as king of Wakanda to protect his kingdom and people from Erik Killmonger's attack. Protecting and promoting a nation is one example of patriotism. Patriotism is the spirit of love of the homeland or the attitude of a person who is willing to sacrifice for the glory and prosperity of his homeland. The changing times make a shift in the meaning of patriotism itself. The emergence of patriotism in the film Black Panther make people who have watched this film imitate so that the formation of social discourse in Indonesia. Researchers here use semiotics analysis John Fiske to examine the signs of patriotism that appears in the film Black Panther. John Fiske's semiotics are divided into several levels, first the level of reality, the level of representation, and the ideological level. The focus of research on this research is the values and forms of patriotism that appear on the characters and scenes with units of analysis of appearance data, behavior, movements, and dialogue in the film Black Panther. From this research, there are results of reality levels that represent patriotism in the costumes, movements, and behaviors found in the sequence preparation and sequence strugles displayed by the Black Panther film character. At the level of representation that represents patriotism is found in the dialogues between characters. These dialogs are found in sequence preparation, complication, strugle, and return. At an ideological level, the Black Panther film represents patriotism that is still tied to the position or profession of a character and uses violence, although there are characters that also have true patriotic souls. While on the Black Panther movie scene there are representations of patriotism, among others, Judging the royal traitor, Slogan Wakanda Forever, Protecting the State and Treasures, and the Death for the Nation.
