Abstract
Energi menjadi kebutuhan yang cukup eksklusif secara geografis. Salah satu negara yang mengalami permasalahan energi adalah Lithuania. Lithuania merupakan salah Negara Baltik yang sangat bergantung terhadap impor energi negara pemasok tunggal Rusia, khususnya pada jenis energi listrik dan gas alam. Tidak terhubungnya Lithuania dengan pasar energi lain, membuat keamanan akses energi Lithuania menjadi sangat rentan. Permasalahan terhadap akses energi Lithuania dari Rusia sudah terjadi beberapa kali untuk kedua sektor energi dalam beberapa dekade. Disisi lain, Lithuania memiliki sumber daya terbatas untuk memproduksi energi domestik secara mandiri. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai strategi yang dilakukan Lithuania untuk memastikan dan menjamin keamanan akses energi dari Rusia menggunakan strategi hedging oleh Kuik Cheng Chwee. Dan menganalisis mengenai orientasi power yang lebih dominan, power acceptence atau power rejection.
English Abstract
Energy becomes a necessity, which is quite geographically exclusive.. One of the countries experiencing energy problems is Lithuania. Lithuania is one of the Baltic States which is very dependent on the energy imports from Russia's sole supplier, especially in the types of electricity and natural gas. Lithuania is not connected with other energy markets, make Lithuania's energy access security very vulnerable. The problem with Lithuania's energy access from Russia has occurred several times for both energy sectors in decades. On the other hand, Lithuania has limited resources to produce domestic energy independently. This study discusses about the strategies carried out by Lithuania to ensure and guarantee the security of energy access from Russia using the hedging strategy by Kuik Cheng Chwee. And analyze the power orientation that is more dominant, power acceptence or power rejection.
