Abdurrahman, Quraisy (2018) Transnationaliazation Gerakan Sosial Transnasional Let’s Do It! Dalam Mengkampanyekan Isu Mismanaged Solid Waste Sejak Tahun 2008. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Environmental problems especially related to waste issue has been discussed since the end of 20th century. Since then, mismanaged solid waste often occurs in the developing countries. There is no concrete solutions that can be applied globally, most of them are very hard to be applied because of high cost and significant generations of waste. Subsequently, Estonia’s movement of Let’s Do It! has come to offer an alternative solution, they involve grassroot actor which is civic society to come to end waste problems. Then it spread to other countries and began its transnational process, bringing their value of the world free of waste. In order to explain those process, Sidney Tarrow offers a concept called transnational contention. Therefore, this thesis is using primary and secondary sources through literature study. The result occurs that the concept actually explains how Let’s Do It! done their transnationalization through five process: domestication, global framing, transnational diffusion, externalization, and transnational coalition.
