Abstract
Kehidupan di perguruan tinggi memiliki tantangan yang berbeda dengan kehidupan di sekolah menengah. Ketika individu tidak mampu menghadapi tantangan tersebut, individu dapat mengalami psychological distress. Untuk dapat menjalani kehidupan di universitas tanpa adanya psychological distress mahasiswa harus dapat menyesuaikan secara personal-emotional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan personal-emotional adjustment pada mahasiswa popular dan mahasiswa rejected. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 215 mahasiswa S1 dan D3 angkatan 2017 Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 alat ukur yaitu Peer Assessment Sociometric dan subskala personal-emotional adjustment dalam Student Adjustment to College Questionnaire (SACQ). Analisis data menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistic 22.0 for windows dengan menggunakan metode independent sample t-test. Hasil uji Statistik menunjukan nilai p=0,7643 (p>0,05) yang menunjukan tidak terdapat perbedaan personal-emotional adjustment pada mahasiswa popular dan mahasiswa rejected.
English Abstract
Life in University has a different challenges to life in high school. When college student are not capable to cope with these challenge, the student can experience psychological distress. In order to be able to live life in university without any psychological distress, its necessary to have an personal-emotional adjustment in university. The aim of ths study is to find out is there any personal-emotional adjustment difference among popular and rejected college student. The subjects of this research are 215 college student from class 2017 in Brawijaya University. This research uses two scale, i.e Peer Assessment Sociometric andpersonal-emotional adjustment subscale in Student Adjustment to College Questionnaire (SACQ). The data analysis is done with IBM Statistics 22 for Windows software using independent sample t-test. The result of statistical test shows that p=0,7643 (p>0,05) which means there is no personal-emotional adjustment difference between popular student and rejected student.
