Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan eating disorder pada model catwalk di Kota Malang. Metode penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini ialah model catwalk utama pada setiap agency di Kota Malang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Skala variabel kepercayaan diri disusun berdasarkan teori Lauster dan skala eating disorder merupakan skala adaptasi dari Eating Attitudes Test yang dikembangkan oleh Garner & Garfinkel. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji terpakai, dengan jumlah subjek penelitian menggunakan 64 model utama di Kota Malang. Uji validitas menggunakan validitas isi dan uji realibilitas menggunakan formula Cronbach Alpha. Hasil penelitian dengan analisis korelasi product moment-Pearson menunjukkan variabel kepercayaann diri dan eating disorder memiliki korelasi sebesar koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,579 dan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05), artinya terdapat hubungan negatif antara variabel sehingga semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri, maka semakin rendah eating disorder pada model di Kota Malang.
English Abstract
This research aims to find out a relation between confidence and eating disorder of catwalk models in Malang City. This research uses quantitative correlational method. The population of this study is the main catwalk models at every agency in Malang City. The sampling method used in this study is purposive sampling. To measure confidence, this study uses a scale based on Lauster theory and for eating disorder, the scale is adapted from Eating Attitude Test that was developed by Garner & Garfinkel. The research is an applied study and the research’s subjects are 64 main catwalk models in Malang City. The validity test used in this research is content validity while the reliability test uses Cronbach-Alpha’s formula. The result of the research using moment-Pearson’s product of correlational analysis indicates that confidence and eating disorder obtain a correlation of -0,579 with a significant value of 0,000 (p < 0,05). The result means that there is a negative relation between variables; in other words, the higher the confidence, the lower the eating disorder of models in Malang City.
