Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan kinerja keuangan antara sebelum dan sesudah merger dengan kepemilikan asing yang mematuhi Kebijakan Kepemilikan Tunggal, dan dampak dari kebijakan tersebut. Kinerja diukur menggunakan 6 rasio keuangan yaitu ROA, BOPO, NPL, NIM, CAR, dan LDR. Terdapat 3 bank yang menjadi objek penelitian selama periode observasi (2006-2011). Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan untuk menguji hipotesis menggunakan uji beda Sample Paired T-Test untuk data yang terdistribusi normal, sedangkan uji beda Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test untuk data yang terdistribusi tidak normal. Hasil dari analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa setelah merger, terdapat peningkatan kinerja pada BOPO, NPL, CAR dan LDR, sedangkan ROA dan NIM cenderung terjadi penurunan. Diperoleh hasil uji beda Sample Paired T-Test dan Wilcoxon Sign Rank test, bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan antara sebelum dan sesudah merger pada rasio BOPO, NPL, dan CAR, sedangkan ROA, NIM, sedangkan rasio LDR terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan. Dalam penelitian ini, merger yang dilakukan terbukti dapat mengurangi jumlah bank yang ada, sehingga dapat mendukung dari Kebijakan Kepemilikan Tunggal yakni mendorong efektivitas fungsi pengawasan Bank Sentral. Namun, cenderung masih belum dapat mempengaruhi kinerja keuangan yang lebih baik bagi perusahaan yang telah melakukan tindakan merger tersebut.

English Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in financial performance between before and after a merger with foreign ownership that adhere to the Single Presence Policy, and the impact of the policy. Performance was measured using 6 financial ratios, namely ROA, BOPO, NPL, NIM, CAR, and LDR. There are 3 banks that are the object of research during the observation period (2006-2011). The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and to test the hypothesis using a Sample Paired T-Test for data that is normally distributed, while the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test for data that is not normally distributed. The results of the descriptive analysis show that after the merger, there was an increase in performance in BOPO, NPL, CAR and LDR, while ROA and NIM tended to decline. The results of different test of Sample Paired T-Test and Wilcoxon Sign Rank test were obtained, that there was no difference between before and after the merger in the ratio of BOPO, NPL, and CAR, while ROA, NIM, while the LDR ratio had a significant difference. In this study, the merger was proven to be able to reduce the number of banks that exist, so that it can support the Single Presence Policy which is to encourage the effectiveness of the Central Bank's supervisory function. However, it tends to still not be able to influence better financial performance for companies that have carried out the merger action.
