Abstract

Kebutuhan listrik di Indonesia sangatlah besar, serta pertumbuhan kebutuhan listrik di indonesia mencapai 7,2%. Pembangkit yang paling banyak diminati adalah PLTU (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap). Namun, dengan kubutuhan yang besar maka akan menimbulkan masalah baru yaitu kebutuhan batu bara yang besar juga. Sehingga performance PLTU harus bagus agar tidak muncul masalah tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan performance PLTU adalah menggunakan siklus regenerative. Seperti pemanfaatan feed water heater bertingkat yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan temperatur feed water sebelum memasuki boiler. Penelitian dilakukan di Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap Paiton Unit 5 PT. YTL JAWA TIMUR (Jawa Power). Penelitian meliputi 3 tahap, tahap pertama melakukan studi referensi sebagai penunjang data yaitu manual book dan literature yang ada di document control PT. YTL JAWA TIMUR. Tahap kedua, proses pengambilan data record operasi DCS (Distributed Control System) dari CCR (Central Control Room). Tahap ketiga, perhitungan matematis dengan prinsip termodinamika dan pembahasan dari perhitungan tersebut, sehingga nantinya didapatkan beberapa kesimpulan pengaruhnya terhadap nilai heat rate, nilai efisiensi unit, temperatur main steam (uap masuk HP turbin) dan temperatur flue gas keluar boiler pada PLTU Paiton unit 5 pada Load 100%. Hasil penelitian di dapatkan bahwa penggunaan jumlah tingkat FWH yang lebih banyak dapat menurunkan nilai heat rate yang dibutuhkan. Dikarenakan temperatur feed water yang memasuki economizer lebih tinggi. Kemudian, penggunaan jumlah tingkat FWH yang lebih banyak dapat meningkatkan nilai efisiensi yang dihasilkan. Karena penggunaan FWH 8 tingkat akan menyebabkan nilai pinch point mengecil, irreversibilitas yang terjadi juga semakin rendah. Selain itu, penggunaan feed water heater juga berpengaruh terhadap temperatur main steam dan flue gas yang akan berdampak pada beberapa komponen yang digunakan pada sistem tenaga uap.

English Abstract

The demand of Electricity in Indonesia is very high, and the growth of electricity demand in Indonesia reaches 7.2%. The most popular power plant is Steam Power Plant, it will cause a new problem that is need for large coal as well. So the performance of Steam Power Plant should be good. One way to improve the performance of the steam power plant is to use the regenerative cycle. Such as the use of multistage feed water heaters that used to increase the temperature of feed water before entering the boiler. The purpose of the research is to analyzed the higher heat rate of steam powerplant so it can reduce the coal firing. The research was conducted at Paiton Unit 5 Steam Power Plant PT. YTL JAWA TIMUR (JAWA POWER). Research includes 3 stages, the first stage of conducting a reference study as a supporting data that is manual book and literature in the document control PT. YTL JAWA TIMUR. The second stage, the process of retrieving data records DCS (Distributed Control System) from CCR (Central Control Room). Third stage is mathematical calculation with thermodynamic principle and discussion of the calculation, so that got the value of heat rate, unit efficiency, main steam temperature and flue gas temperature that out of boiler at PLTU Paiton unit 5 at Load 100%. The results of the study found that the use of more FWH levels could decrease the heat rate required. Due to the temperature of feed waters entering the economizer is higher. Then, the use of a greater number of FWH levels can increase the value of the efficiency. Because the use of FWH 8 levels will cause pinch point value decreased, then the irreversibility number is also lower. In addition, the use of feed water heaters also affects the temperature of main steam and flue gas which will affects some of the components used in steam power systems.
