Abstract

Penggunaan jaringan wireless sebagai salah satu penunjang dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar sudah tidak asing lagi. Karena pada zaman sekarang dimana pencarian informasi yang begitu mudah dan cepat dengan adanya bantuan jaringan wireless. Pada gedung A Teknik Elektro Universitas Brawijaya terdapat 4 buah access point standar IEEE 802.11n. Namun implementasi yang ada perlu dilakukan evaluasi agar dapat diketahui kualitas staandar jaringan wireless 802.11n apakah sudah sesuai standar yang berlaku. Evaluasi dapat menggunakan aplikasi NetSpot karena dapat memindai seluruh area gedung A yang terpasang access point dan dapat menampilkan parameter kualitas jaringan seperti level sinyal, SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio), dan manajemen kanal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parameter yang didapat masih menunjukkan nilai yang jauh dari standar jaringan wireless IEEE 802.11n dengan nilai level sinyal -81 dbm, - 85 dBm, dan -96 dBm. Serta nilai SIR yang didapat sebagai acuan adanya interferensi antar access point yaitu -7 dB, -12 dB dan -32 dB. Dari nilai SIR yang ada menunjukkan tingkat interferensi tinggi dan menyebabkan penurunan kualitas jaringan wireless. Serta penggunaan kanal pada access point masih banyak yang tumpang tindih satu sama lain. Hal ini juga dapat menyebabkan interferensi karena kanal sehingga perlu pengaturan ulang kanal pada jaringan wireless IEEE 802.11n.

English Abstract

The use of wireless networks as one of the supporting in teaching and learning activities is not foreign anymore. Because in the present era where the search for information is so easy and fast with the help of wireless networks. In Building A Electrical Engineering Universitas Brawijaya there are 4 pieces of IEEE 802.11n standard access point. However, the existing implementation needs to be evaluated in order to know the quality of the standard 802.11n wireless network is in accordance with applicable standards. Evaluation can use NetSpot application because it can scan entire area of building A installed access point and can display network quality parameters such as signal level, SIR (Signal to Interference Ratio), and channel management. The results showed that the parameters obtained still showed a value far from the standard IEEE 802.11n wireless network with a signal level of -81 dbm, -85 dBm, and -96 dBm. And the value of SIR obtained as reference of interference between access point that is -7 dB, -12 dB and -32 dB. Of the existing SIR values indicates high interference rates and leads to a decrease in the quality of wireless networks. And the use of channels on the access point is still a lot of overlap each other. This can also cause channel interference and therefore need to reset the channel on the IEEE 802.11n wireless network.
