Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat menuntut perpustakaan sebagai lembaga informasi harus berkembang. Perkembangan tersebut juga diikuti oleh Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya dengan memanfaatkan sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLISLite versi 3. Sistem otomasi INLISLite versi 3 sejatinya memiliki fitur bawaan untuk membantu kegiatan di perpustakaan pada umumnya. Hal tersebut membuat sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLISLite versi 3 dapat dimanfaatkan baik bagi pustakawan maupun pemustaka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLISLite versi 3 dalam menunjang kegiatan pengolahan bahan pustaka monograf di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya baik bagi pustakawan maupun pemustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan qualitative for library research. Data penelitian diambil dari hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLISLite versi 3 dalam menunjang kegiatan pengolahan bahan pustaka monograf di Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya sudah dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh pustakawan maupun pemustaka. Tersedianya fitur pada sistem otomasi tersebut membantu pustakawan dalam melakukan kegiatan pengolahan bahan pustaka monograf yang meliputi 1)Registrasi bahan pustaka 2)Katalogisasi 3)Pembuatan kelengkapan bahan pustaka. Akan tetapi hal tersebut belum dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh pemustaka dikarenakan pihak Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya belum mengoptimalkan kembali kegiatan sosialisasi terkait penggunaan fitur-fitur pada sistem otomasi INLISLite versi 3. Faktor pendukung dalam pemanfaatan sistem otomasi INLISLite versi 3 adalah fitur yang mudah dengan database yang memadai, sumber daya manusia (staf IT) yang profesional serta infrastruktur perpustakaan yang memadai. Faktor penghambat pemanfaatan sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLISLite versi 3 yaitu minimnya anggaran, kurangnya tenaga pustakawan serta kurangnya sosialisasi. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian tersebut, disarankan kepada Perpustakaan Universitas Brawijaya untuk melakukan 1) Kebutuhan terkait pengadaan komputer server 2) Perlunya penambahan 3 orang tenaga pustakawan 3) Mengoptimalkan kembali kegiatan promosi terkait penggunaan fitur pada sistem otomasi perpustakaan INLILSite versi 3 kepada pemustaka.
English Abstract
The rapid development of information technology requires the library as an information institution should develop. The development was also followed by the Library Universitas Brawijaya by utilizing the library automation system of INLISLite version 3. The INLISLite 3 version automation system actually has the default feature to assist the activities in the library in general. This makes the library automation system INLISLite version 3 can be used both for librarians and user. This study aims to determine the utilization of library automation system inlislite (integrated library system) version 3 in supporting the processing activities of book library materials in the library universitas brawijaya both for librarians and user. This research uses descriptive research method with qualitative for library research approach. The research data is taken from interviews, observation, and documents. The results of this study indicate that the utilization of library automation system inlislite (integrated library system) version 3 in supporting the processing activities of book library materials in the library universitas brawijaya has been used well by librarians and user. The availability of features in the automation system helps librarians in performing monograph library material processing which includes 1) Registration of library materials 2) Cataloging 3) Creation of library materials. However, it has not been able to be utilized well by the library because the Library of Brawijaya University has not optimized the socialization activities related to the use of features in the INLISLite version 3 automation system. The supporting factor in the utilization of INLISLite version 3 automation system is easy feature with adequate database , professional human resources (IT staff) and adequate library infrastructure. Factor inhibiting the utilization of library automation system of INLISLite version 3 is lack of budget, lack of librarians and lack of socialization. Based on the findings of the study, it is suggested to the UB Library to do 1) The need related to the procurement of server computer 2) The need for the addition of 3 librarians 3) Optimize the promotion activities related to the use of features in the library automation system INLILSite version 3 to the user.
