Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan membuktikan secara empiris: (1) Apakah karakteristik individu (kesehatan, masa kerja, etos kerja), faktor demograpi (umur, Jumlah tanggunan), sosial ekonomi (pendidikan, Upah) ,lingkungan kerja serta kebijakan Pemerintah berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas pekerja wanita etnis Bugis, Makassar dan Toraja pada sektor industri kecil, industri menengah dan industri besar di kota Makassar. (2) Apakah ada perbedaan produktivitas pekerja wanita antara etnis Bugis, Makassar dan Toraja pada sektor industri di Kota Makassar. (3) Apakah ada perbedaan produktivitas pekerja wanita pada sektor indistri kecil, industri menengah dan industri besar di Kota Makassar Sulawesi Selatan. Populasi Penelitian adalah seluruh pekerja wanita pada industri makanan minuman baik pada industri kecil, industri menengah dan industri besar sebanyak 2302 orang. Sampel penelitian yaitu 341responden . Pengambilan sampel dengan cara Stratified Proportional Random Sampling. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Pada industri kecil karakteristik individu (kesehatan, masa kerja, etos kerja), demografi (umur), sosial ekonomi (upah) serta lingkungan kerja berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap produktivitas pekerja wanita etnis Bugis, Makassar dan Toraja. Dan yang berpengaruh tidak signifikan adalah faktor demografi (jumlah tanggungan), sosial ekonomi (tingkat pendidikan) dan kebijakan pemerintah. Pada industri menengah dan industri besar variabel yang berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap produktivitas pekerja wanita etnis Bugis, Makassar dan Toraja adalah karakteristik individu (kesehatan, masa kerja, etos kerja), faktor demografi (umur), sosial ekonomi (pendidikan, upah), lingkungan kerja dan kebijakan pemerintah yang berpengaruh tidak signifikan adalah faktor demografi (Jumlah tanggungan). (2) Ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara produktivitas pekerja wanita antara etnis Bugis, Makassar dan Toraja di kota Makassar (3) Ada perbedaan secara signifikan antara produktivitas pekerja wanita pada industri kecil, industri menengah dan industri besar di kota Makassar Sulawesi Selatan.

English Abstract

This research aims to test and prove empirically: (1) whether individual characteristics (health, tenure, work ethics), demographic factors (age, number of dependents), social-economic characteristics (education, wage), work environment and government regulations have any impact on the productivity of female workers from the Buginese, Makassarese and Torajan ethnic groups in the sectors of small, mid-sized and large industries in the municipality of Makassar; (2) whether there are any differences of productivity among the female workers from the Buginese, Makassarese and Torajan ethnic groups in the industrial sectors in the municipality of Makassar; and (3) whether there are any differences of productivity among the female workers in the sectors of small, mid-sized and large industries in the municipality of Makassar, South Sulawesi. The population for this research includes all female workers in the food and beverage industry in the sectors of small, mid-sized and large industries, comprising of 2302 individuals. The sample of this research is 341 respondents. Sample was taken using the stratified proportional random sampling method and data was analyzed by multiple regression. The findings of this research shows that: (1) for the small-scaled industries, individual characteristics (health, tenure, work ethics), demographic characteristics (age), social-economic characteristics (wage) and work environment have significant impact on the productivity of female workers from the Buginese, Makassarese and Torajan ethnic groups while other characteristics do not have any impact, that is demographic characteristics (number of dependents), social-economic characteristics (education), and government regulation. For the mid-sized and large industries, individual characteristics (health, tenure, work ethics), demographic characteristics (age), social-economic characteristics (education, wage), work environment and government regulation have significant impact on the productivity of female workers from the Buginese, Makassarese and Torajan ethnic groups while demographic factor (number of dependents) does not have any significant impact; (2) there are significant differences in productivity between the Buginese, Makassarese and Torajan ethnic groups in the municipality of Makassar; (3) there is significant differences in productivity of female workers between small, mid-sized and large industries in the municipality of Makassar, South Sulawesi.
