Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan konsep harga jual yang diimplementasikan Papalele dalam lingkup nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat Maluku. Mengapa Papalele? Karena secara kasat mata, ciri tradisional Papalele dalam melakukan aktivitas berjualan masih tetap dipertahankan dan memiliki budaya yang berbeda dengan komunitas lainnya di Indonesia yang beraktivitas serupa dengan Papalele di Maluku. Perbedaan ini memungkinkan untuk melahirkan konsep harga jual yang berbeda dari konsep harga jual lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnometodologi melalui tahapan analisis: reduksi data dan pengkodean data, tematisasi, penyajian data, indeksikalitas, refleksivitas dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, pengamatan dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa penetapan harga jual yang dilakukan Papalele menyertakan unsur-unsur biaya dan laba yang tidak saja bersifat materi, namun juga unsur-unsur non materi, seperti nilai-nilai budaya Maluku, yaitu: pela [gandong], masohi dan suike matau’u kepada Sang Pencipta. Ketiga nilai budaya ini merupakan nilai dasar yang melahirkan nilai operasional berupa: nilai kejujuran, kepercayaan (trust), keadilan, solidaritas, altruisme, cinta kasih, keikhlasan dan silaturrahim. Perpaduan nilai-nilai dasar dan nilai-nilai operasional yang diimplementasikan Papalele dalam proses penentuan harga jual diyakini mampu membawa konsep harga jual Papalele pada keberkahan hidup yang berujung pada kebahagiaan sejati, yaitu kebahagiaan yang tidak hanya diperuntukkan bagi diri pribadi Papalele, akan tetapi juga kepada para konsumennya.

English Abstract

This research aims to reveal the concept of pricing that is implemented in Papalele based on the cultural values of Malukunese society. Why Papalele? Since from our bare sight and observation, the traditional characteristics of Papalele in establishing their selling activities is still well-preserved and has different culture compared to other cultural communities which have similar selling activities with Papalele community at Maluku. The difference results in possibility to emerge a new concept of pricing to sell which is different from the pricing concept in another place. This research utilizes ethnomethodology approach through several steps of analysis including: data reduction and data coding, grouping on similar themes, data presentation, indexing, reflection, and conclusion drawing. Data collection is done through interview, participative observation, and documentation. The result of this research reveals that the concept of pricing to sell that is conducted in Papalele activity involves costs and profit elements which are not only material but also non-material such as Malukunese’s cultural values namely pela [gandong], masohi and suike matau’u to the God Almighty. Those three cultural values are the basic values which derive operating values such as honesty, trust, fairness, solidarity, altruism, love and care, uprightness, and silaturahim (relationship). The mix between those basic values and operating values that are implemented in Papalele activity during the pricing process is believed to be able to bring the pricing concept in Papalele to the blessing of life which ends up in the true happiness of life. It is a happiness which is not only for personal matter of Papalele but also for the customers of Papalele.
