Abstract
Elektroda selektif Ion (ESI) adalah sebuah inovasi dalam sensor elektrokimia potensiometri yang memiliki selektivitas tinggi, sensitivitas tinggi dan analisis cepat. Sensor potensiometri ion Pb 2+ tipe kawat terlapis bermembran kitosan telah dibuat dan dikarakterisasi. Dalam pembuatan sensor ini, kawat Pt digunakan sebagai konduktor elektronik. Kawat Pt dilapisi membran sensor yang dibuat dari campuran kitosan sebagai bahan aktif dan bahan pendukung yang terdiri dari polivinilklorida (PVC) dan dioktilftalat (DOP) serta dibutilftalat (DBP) dalam pelarut tetrahidrofuran (THF) dengan perbandingan 1:3 (b/v). Untuk memperoleh kinerja sensor potensiometri ion Pb 2+ yang Nernstian , maka dipelajari pengaruh komposisi dan waktu perendaman membran dalam larutan Pb(NO 3 ) 2 1M. Selanjutnya dilakukan karakterisasi sifat dasar sensor yang meliputi: faktor Nernst , kisaran konsentrasi linier, limit deteksi, waktu respon dan usia pemakaian. Untuk mengetahui kinerja ESI Pb 2+ terhadap lingkungan, maka dilakukan analisis terhadap pengaruh suhu, pH dan ion-ion asing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbandingan komposisi membran sensor optimum yaitu kitosan 10%: 40% PVC: 50% plasticizer DOP. Sensor yang dibuat mendekati Nernstian dengan faktor Nernst sebesar 29,1 mV dekade/konsentrasi dengan koefisien korelasi R 2 = 0,9661, konsentrasi linier berkisar antara 1x10 -4 sampai 1x10 -1 M, batas deteksi 1,9952 x 10 -5 M atau 4,13 ppm, waktu respon 30 detik, dan usia pemakaian 70 hari. Kinerja terbaik sensor diperoleh pada perendaman membran sensor dalam larutan Pb(NO 3 ) 2 1M selama 30 menit. ESI-Pb(II) menunjukkan kinerja yang baik antara temperatur 25 - 35 0 C dan pH 4 - 6. Ion-ion asing Hg 2+ , Cu 2+ , Cd 2+ 10 -3 M tidak berpengaruh pada ESI Pb(II) dengan urutan selektifitas berdasarkan harga Kij yaitu Pb 2+ Hg 2+ Cu 2+ Cd 2+ . ESI Pb(II) bermembran kitosan ini menunjukkan hasil korelasi yang baik dengan hasil dari metode standart AAS sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai metode alternatif untuk menentukan Pb(II) dalam sampel limbah buatan.
English Abstract
Ion selective electrode (ISE) is an innovation in potentiometric electrochemical sensors which has high selectivity, high sensitivity and fast analysis. Potensiometric Lead(II) sensor based on chitosan was constructed and characterized. In construction of sensor, platina wire was used as electronic conductor. Platina wire was coated by sensor membrane made of mixture chitosan as an active materials, polyvinylchloride (PVC), dioctylpthalate (DOP) or dibutylpthalate (DBP), which were dissolved in tertahydrofuran (THF) with ratio of 1:3 (w/v). influences of composition and soaking time of sensor`s membrane in 1M Pb(NO 3 ) 2 solution were observed to obtain Nernstian performance of potentiometric Lead(II) sensor. basic characteristics of potentiometric Lead sensor, which included Nernst factor, linearity concentration, detection limit, response time, and life time were investigated. In order to know characteristic of ISE Pb 2+ in environment influence of temperature, pH and foreign ions were also investigated. results showed that optimum composition of sensor`s membrane consist of 10% chitosan: 40% PVC: 50% plasticizer DOP. sensor exhibits a Nernstian response towards Lead(II) ion with a Nernst factor of 29.1 mV/decade concentration, correlation coeficient of R 2 = 0.9661, linear concentration range from 1x10 -4 to 1x10 -1 M, detection limit of 1, 9952 x 10 -5 M or 4.13 ppm, response time of 30 seconds, and life time of 70 days. best sensor performance was obtained of soaking sensor membrane in 1M Pb(NO 3 ) 2 solution for 30 minutes. Lead(II) ISE showed good performance between temperature of 25 - 35 0 C and pH 4 - 6. Foreign ions, such as Hg 2+ , Cu 2+ , Cd 2+ concentration of 10 -3 M did not interferen Lead(II) ISE, with selectivity coefficient, Kij, in order of Pb 2+ Hg 2+ Cu 2+ Cd 2+ . This method showed good agreement with results obtained from AAS standart method, and refore, Lead(II) ISE potensiometric method can be used as an alternative method for determining Lead(II) in shyn tics sample.
