Abstract

English Abstract

Objective of this research was to examine effect of substitution of leguminous gamal ( Gliricidia sepium ) and kaliandra ( Calliandra calothyrus ) with fermented coffee pulp on performance of male etawah Crossbred goat. research was conducted in Mekar Sari Breeder Group, Sepang Village, Busungbiu Subdistrict, Buleleng District. From August to December 2011. 16 male Etawah Crossbred Goats with 20 kg average weight were used in Rendomized Block Design of 4 treatments and 4 replications. s treatments were substitution of leguminous gamal and kaliandra with fermented coffee pulp in different levels. Treatment P1 = 100 % leguminous (gamal and kaliandra in ratio 1:1); Treatment P2 = 70 % leguminous + 30 % fermented coffee pulp; Treatment P3 = 55 % leguminous + 45 % fermented coffee pulp; Treatment P4 = 40 % leguminous + 60 % fermented coffee pulp. coffee pulp was fermented using Aspergilus niger fungus. parameters observed were (1) body weight gram, (2) consumption of DM, OM, CP, CF and Gross Energy, (3) Feed Conversion, (4) Physiology Status, and (5) Economic Analysis. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance using GenStat Release 12.2. Economic analysis was analyzed using MBCR ( Marginal Benefit Cost Ratio ). Result of research consumption of DM, OM, CP and Gross Energy at Treatment P4 were significantly very low than those at Treatments P1, P2 and P3. highest level of consumption of DM, OM, CP and Gross Energy was found at Treatment P1 (62.38; 57.43; 16.48 grams/kg BW 0.75 and 263.10 kcal/kg BW 0.75 ). consumption of CF at Treatment P1 had given significantly but lower effect than those at Treatments P2, P3 and P4. lowest CF was shown at Treatment P1 (14.84 grams/kg BW 0.75 ). body weight gram of PE Goat at Treatment P1 was 88.93, Treatment P2 = 100.00, P3 = 99.64, and Treatment P4 = 71.79 grams/goat/day. Result of statistic test showed that Treatments P1, P2, and P3 had very significantly difference (P 0.01) from Treatment P4. Meanwhile, feed conversion and livestock physiology (body temperature and heart beat) did not have significantly effect (P 0.05). treatment of fermented coffee pulp was reliable. It was concluded that treatment of fermented coffee pulp 30 % and leguminous (P2) 70 % gave best growth and economic value for PE goat. refore, it was suggested that breeder of Ettawah Crossbred Goat at plantation area should use fermented coffee pulp by 30 % as substitution of leguminous (kaliandra and gamal).
