Abstract

Fenomena aliran dua fase dapat dijumpai di alam, tubuh mahluk hidup dan dunia industri. Aliran fluida melalui belokan pipa memiliki nilai pressure drop yang besar dibandingkan pipa lurus akibat perubahan geometri dan lintasan yang berdampak pada perubahan pola aliran sehingga terbentuk aliran terpisah yang disebabkan dari sisi bagian dalam belokan pipa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola aliran dan pressure drop aliran dua fase yang terjadi melalui belokan 45° dari posisi horisontal menuju vertikal miring ke atas. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan eksperimental menggunakan pipa transparan sebelum dan sesudah belokan, diameter dalam pipa ( D ) 26.64 mm , air dan udara sebagai fluida kerja cairan dan gas. Variasi yang dilakukan adalah debit udara ( Q G ) (1 – 3) LPM dan gas volume fraction ( β ) (25 – 50) %. Pengukuran pressure drop melalui belokan menggunakan manometer U dengan elevation pressure tap ( ΔZ ) 30 mm . Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pola aliran yang terjadi adalah slug/plug flow dimana semakin besar gas volume fraction ( β ) maka ukuran slug/plug flow semakin besar dan berbanding terbalik dengan pressure drop yang semakin turun. Pressure drop tertinggi terjadi dengan kondisi gas volume fraction ( β ) 50%, kecepatan superficial udara ( VsG ) 0.076 m/s dan kecepatan superficial air ( V sL ) 0.227 m/s sebesar 107.415 Pa secara teoritis dan 214.616 Pa secara eksperimen.

English Abstract

phenomenon of two phase flow can be found in our nature, at living body and industrial of world. flow of Fluid through pipe bends have a value greater than pressure drop straight pipe it`s was because changes in geometry and trajectory that have an impact on change of flow pattern, forming a separate stream resulting from inner side of pipe bends. This research aims to determine of flow pattern and two-phase flow pressure drop that occurs through 45° elbow from horizontal to vertical slopes upward. This research was conducted with an experimental method using a transparent pipe before and after turn, diameter of pipe ( D ) 26.64 mm , water and air as working fluid of liquid and gas. Variations that do are gas flow rate ( Q G ) (1 - 3) LPM and gas volume fraction ( β ) (25 - 50) %. Measurements of pressure drop through 45° elbow using a U manometer with elevation pressure tap ( ΔZ ) 30 mm . From results of this research we can concluded that flow pattern that occurs is slug/plug flow where greater gas volume fraction ( β ), size of slug/plug flow greater and inversely proportional to pressure drop fur r down. highest pressure drop occurs with condition of gas volume fraction ( β ) of 50 %, superficial gas velocity ( VsG ) 0.076 m/s and superficial liquid velocity ( VsL ) 0227 m/s at 107.415 Pa in oretically and 214.616 Pa at experimentally.
