Abstract

Thymus Vulgaris adalah herbal aromatik dan subshrubs yang sebagian besar ditemukan di wilayah MediteraniaMediterania, Asia, Sou RN Eropa dan Afrika Utara. Thyme berisi banyak bahan aktif termasuk thymol, carvacol dan flavonoid. Thyme digunakan secara luas sebagai rapy herbal (phyto rapy), obat imunomodulasi dan anti-bakteri. Elisa digunakan untuk mengukur IL-6 dan penghitungan koloni digunakan untuk mengukur pertumbuhan bakteri dalam kandung kemih. Hasil korelasi antara dosis ekstrak thymus vulgaris dengan koloni E.Coli, (r = 0,66, p = 0,003). Ini berarti korelasi kuat antara dosis dan koloni E.Coli. Thymus vulgaris are are an aromatic herbs and subshrubs is wich predominantly found in mediterraneanMediterranean region, Asia, Sou rn Europe and North Africa. Thyme contains of many active ingredients include thymol, carvacol and flavonoids. Thyme is used widely as herbal rapy (phyto rapy) ,immunomodulating and anti-bacterial medicine. E.coli as a major pathogen is involved in nosocomial infections and its one of multi drug resistenceresistance organisms., Several different E. coli strains cause diverse intestinal and extraintestinalextra intestinal diseases include urinary tract infection by means of virulence factors that which affect a wide range of cellular processes. UTIs are most common in women. Urinary infection caused by uropathogenic E.coli (UPEC) which leading to increasing increaseof pro inflammatory cytokine as IL- 6. This study is aimed to prove Thymus vulgaris ethanolic extract to deacresingdecreasing IL-6 serum level and bladder bacteria colonies in E. coli infected mice.This study used 20 mice divided into 5 groups, including control positive (infected with 109 CFU/ML E.coli by injected injection to urethra), control negative (without infection), T1, T2 ,T3 (treatment with 250 mg/ml, 500 mg/ml and 750 mg/ml of Thymus vulgaris Ethanolic extract given for 7 days).
