Abstract
Diabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit yang disebabkan oleh gangguan metabolisme karbohidrat. DM juga dapat disebabkan oleh rusaknya sel-sel dari pulau-pulau Langerhans pada pankreas yang berfungsi sebagai penghasil insulin. Pada penderita DM ketika terluka akan lebih sulit dalam proses penyembuhan lukanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian herbal spray Spirulina terhadap perubahan luka sayatan, penurunan ekspresi iNOS pada sel -pankreas dan aktivitas protease pada luka tikus hasil induksi MLD STZ (Multi Low Dose Streptozotocin) dengan dosis 20 mg/kg BB selama 5 hari berturut-turut. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan hewan coba tikus (Rattus norvegicus) sebanyak 15 ekor yang dibagi dalam 3 kelompok dengan masingmasing kelompok terdiri dari 5 ekor, tiga kelompok tersebut adalah kelompok tikus sehat dengan luka sayatan di punggung, kelompok tikus DM dengan luka sayatan dan kelompok tikus DM dengan luka sayatan yang diberi terapi herbal spray Spirulina selama 14 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian herbal spray Spirulina dapat mengurangi panjang luka sayatan pada tikus DM tipe 1 dari 4,28 cm menjadi 0,5 cm, mampu menurunkan ekspresi iNOS pada sel -pankreas tikus DM tipe 1 serta mampu menurunkan aktivitas protease pada luka tikus DM tipe 1 sebesar 48,23%.
English Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease caused by disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. DM can also be caused by the destruction of cells of the islands of Langerhans in the pancreas that functions as an insulin-producing. In patients with DM when injured will be more difficult in the wound healing process. This study aims to determine the effect of Spirulina herbal spray against changes cuts, reduction in iNOS expression in -cells of the pancreas and protease activity in wound induction results MLD STZ rats (Multi Low Dose Streptozotocin) at a dose of 20 mg / kg for 5 consecutive days in a row. In this study using 15 rats (Rattus norvegicus) were divided into three groups with each group consisting of 5 rats, the three groups are groups of healthy mice with skin wound on his back, a group of diabetic rats with wound and groups diabetic rats with wound and to get therapy of Spirulina herbal spray during 14 days. The results showed that administration of Spirulina herbal spray can reduce the length of incision wounds in diabetic rats from 4,28 cm until 0,5 cm, were able to decrease the expression of iNOS in pancreatic -cells of DM type 1 rats and be able to decrease of 48,23% protease activity in wound DM type 1 rats.
