Abstract

Consumption of beef in Indonesia continues to increase, but the increase has not been matched by an adequate increase in cattle production. It is known from beef demand in 2008 in Indonesia, which totaled 259 158 tonnes, equivalent to 1.98625 million head of cattle, while cattle slaughtered in the same year amounted to 1,295,789 head or 65% of Indonesias meat needs. The cause of the shortage of beef because the cuts are not according to the rules and low productivity. The decline in productivity due to lack of nutrients feed given to cows. Therefore the need to create a feed that can improve the productivity of cattle and feasibility studies need to be made that the establishment of the factory in terms of technical, technological and financial. This study aims to get a basic overview of the ruminant feed mill feasibility study in terms of the technical aspects of the technological and financial scale that benefit SMEs.This study resulted in that plan ruminant feed mill will be built in the district of Kediri district Kandangan, production capacity per day 676 and 243 247 packs / year. Tools and machines used in the manufacture of ruminant feed in the form of tunnel dryers, disk mill, digital scales, hand sealer and a knife. Capital projects needed Rp. 251,672,200.00, financial analysis results obtained eligibility criteria ie an IRR of 69%, NPV of Rp. 1,227,734,145.00, BEP Rp. 93,631,034.00, PP can at 6 months 8 days of R / C ratio of 1.57. The results of the sensitivity analysis of the project is still feasible if the increase in raw material does not exceed 9% and a decrease in income does not exceed 8%.
