Abstract

Industri teh merupakan salah satu produk yang memilki daya tarik yang tinggi di beberapa negara. Industritehmenyumbangdevisanegaramelaluinilaiperdagangannya di pasarduniamencapai U$7.235.000 dengan volume sebesar 3.707 ton. Perkebunanteh wonosarimerupakanperkebunanteh yang berada di bawahnaunganPT. Perkebunan Nusantara XII (PTPN XII) Persero Wonosari yang terletak di kotaLawang. Perkebunan tehini, menghasilkanprodukberupatehhitam yang dieksporkeberbagainegarasepertiEropa, Australia, Amerika, Timur Tengah dan Asia Tenggara.Data dari Badan Pusat Statistik, volume perkembangan ekspor teh hitam di Indonesia pada tahun 2009 sampai 2010 mengalami penurunan sebesar 5.203 ton atau sekitar 1,58%. Salah satu yang mempengaruhi penurunan tersebut tidak terlepas dari kualitas teh hitam yang dihasilkan. Proses pengeringanmerupakan salah satu CCP (Critical Control Point) dalam proses produksi teh hitam. Pada saat ini masih belum ada pengukuran secara rinci mengenai tingkat kapabilitas proses pada bagian tersebut khususnya di PTPN XII (Persero) Wonosari, Lawang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai sigma pada proses pengeringan teh hitam dan faktor penyebab penyimpangannya serta memberikan usulan mengenai perbaikan yang diprioritaskan untuk mengurangi defect pada proses pengeringan di PTPN XII (Persero) Wonosari, Lawang. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode six sigma (define, measure dan analyze) dan FMEA (Failure Modes and Effect Analysis). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pengeringanserbuktehhitammemilkitingkatsix sigma kapabilitasjangkapendeksebesar 2,25dankapabilitasjangkapanjangsebesar2,22.Perolehannilai sigma tersebutdianggapsudahbaikbagiperusahaan di Indonesia, karena standar di Indonesia sebesar 2 sigma.Faktor penyebab penyimpangan adalah metode, mesin dan lingkungan. Prioritas usulan perbaikan dilakukan pada mode kegagalanyangbernilai RPN sebesar 252 yaitupadaperawatanmesindenganpenyebabkegagalandikarenakanperawatanmesin yang kurangbaiksepertipengecekanmesin yang jarangdilakukan.

English Abstract

Tea industry is one product that has high attraction in several countries. Tea industry contribute to foreign exchange by value of trading in the world market up to U$ 7.235 million with a volume of 3,707 tons. Wonosari tea plantation in Lawang cityis one of tea plantation under PT.Perkebunan Nusantara XII (PTPN XII)Persero. It produceds black tea which is Europe, Australia, America, Middle East and Southeast Asia. Data from Central Bureau of Statistics, showed export volume that of black tea in Indonesia from 2009 to 2010 decreased in about 5,203 tonnes or approximately 1.58%. One of the factors that influence the decreasing of black tea export was the quality of black tea.. Drying process was one of the CCP (Critical Control Point) in black tea manufacturing process. PTPN XII (Persero) Wonosari, Lawanghad not been measuring the level of drying process capability in detail. The purpose of this study were determining the sigma value of drying process on black tea manufacture determining the factors causing the process deviations and providing recommendation of priority improvement to reduce defects in the drying process in PTPN XII (Persero) Wonosari, Lawang. Measurements were performed by using the method of six sigma (define, measure and analyze) and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis). The research result showed that the six sigma level in short-term process capability was 2,25 and the six sigma level in long term process capability was 2,22. Thesesigma value levelwere considered to be good for the company in Indonesia, because these value were over of 2 sigma which was standard sigma value in Indonesia. Factors causing deviations of drying process are methods, machine and the environment.The priority for improvement was carried out on failure modes with the biggest RPN value which was 252. This priority was on machine maintenance which was poor, such as a rare checking machine.
