Abstract

Pabrik Gula Pesantren Baru telah melakukan pengelolaan limbah, tetapi Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) yang ada belum efektif untuk mengurangi kadar bahan organik yang terkandung dalam air limbah tersebut. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka diperlukan evaluasi IPAL PG Pesantren Baru, sehingga dapat ditentukan langkah untuk memperbaiki IPAL tersebut. Dalam Penelitian ini difokuskan pada Bak Pengendap I mengingat effluen di bangunan ini menjadi beban pada bangunan selanjutnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melakukan evaluasi kinerja bak pengendap I dan memanfaatkan effluent limbah yang ada dengan melakukan percobaan Annaerobic Buffled Reactor kombinasi Anaerobic Filter skala laboratorium sehingga diharapkan menghasilkan effluent yang lebih optimal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium PG Pesantren Baru mulai bulan Nopember 2010 sampai Desember 2010. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode secara ekperimental dengan 3 perlakuan yaitu dengan variasi debit sludge return 0%, 50%, dan 100% pada alat Anaerobic Buffled Reactor kombinasi Anaerobic Filter dengan 5 parameter yaitu BOD, COD, TSS, Amonium, Phospat. Dari Perlakuan tersebut akan di analisa untuk mendapatkan nilai persen removal tertinggi. Penelitian ini didapatkan hasil evaluasi dan perhitungan menunjukan kondisi eksisting Bak Pengendap I. Persentase removal beban organik dari bak pengendap I yang ada tidak memenuhi kriteria desain. Overflow rate (OFR) sudah memenuhi kriteria desain dengan nilai 5-7 m3/m2.hari. Waktu detensi 10 jam tidak memenuhi kriteria desain dengan standart 5-7jam. Kontrol Nre yang telah sesuai dengan nilai kriteria desain menunjukkan nilai 289 < 2000. Hasil analisis pengolahan air limbah dengan menggunakan Anaerobic Buffled Reactor kombinasi Anaerobic Filter dapat mereduksi beban organik lebih dari 90% pada sludge return 100%. Sedangkan pada pengolahan unit Bak Pengendap awal hanya dapat mereduksi beban organik 25,1%.

English Abstract

Sugar factory of pesantren baru has made waste management, but the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) has not been effective to reduce the amount of organic material contained in the waste water. Based on this it is necessary to evaluate the sugar factory of pesantern baru WWTP, so it can be determined steps to improve the WWTP. The research is focused on settling tub I remember the effluent in this unit to be a burden on the next unit. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the performance of settling first tanks and redesigning the unit Bak settling first by utilizing the building and the existing sewage effluent by experimenting Annaerobic Buffled laboratory-scale reactor that is expected to produce effluent that is more optimal. Research was conducted at sugar factory of Pesantren Baru Laboratory from November 2010 until December 2010. This research method uses the experimental method with 3 treatment is by variation of sludge discharge return 0%, 50%, and 100% on equipment Baffled Anaerobic Reactor with 5 parameters namely BOD, COD, TSS, Amonium, phosphate. Of treatment will be analyzed to obtain the highest value of percent removal. This study, the evaluation results and calculations show the existing condition of settling first tank. The percentage removal of organic load from the settling tanks I to not meet the design criteria. Overflow rate (OFR) already meet the design criteria with a value of 5-7 m3/m2 day. Detention time of 10 hours does not meet the design criteria with a standard 5-7 hour. Nre controls that are in accordance with design criteria value indicates the value 289 < 2000. The results of the analysis of wastewater treatment using a combination of Anaerobic Reactor Baffled Anaerobic Filter can reduce the organic load of more than 90% in the sludge return 100%. While the initial precipitating Bak processing unit can only reduce the organic load of 25,1%
