Abstract
Data warehouse adalah kumpulan data yang memiliki sifat berorientasi subjek, terintegrasi, time-variant dan nonvolatile pada pengumpulan data untuk mendukung proses pengambilan keputusan. Selain itu, dengan data warehouse data dapat diorganisir dengan baik untuk query analisis dan sebagai bahan untuk pemrosesan transaksi. Dalam proses pengembangan Data Warehouse, terdapat beberapa tahapan yakni tahap perencanaan proyek, definisi kebutuhan bisnis, deployment, maintenance dan growth. Dari beberapa tahapan tersebut, tahap definisi kebutuhan bisnis dianggap sebagai tahapan yang paling penting karena pada tahap ini seluruh kebutuhan Data warehouse akan ditentukan. Setelah itu akan dilakukan desain model multidimensional schema Data warehouse yang akan menjadi panduan pihak pengembang dalam tahap deployment. Pendekatan user driven merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan untuk mendapatkan kebutuhan bisnis dari suatu perusahaan atau instansi yang akan menerapkan data warehouse. Dalam prosesnya, pendekatan ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yakni tahap wawancara pengguna, analisis hasil wawancara, pertanyaan bisnis dan analisis kebutuh berdasarkan fakta dan dimensi. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan penerapan pendekatan user driven pada Bagian Akademik Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM UB). Langkah pertama, peneliti akan terlebih dahulu menentukan siapa saja pihak yang harus diwawancarai untuk mendapatkan kebutuhan data warehouse yang benar-benar valid terkait dengan akademik fakultas ilmu komputer universita brawijaya. Selanjutnya, akan dilakukan analisis terhadap hasil wawancara, merumuskan pertanyaan bisnis dari hasil wawancara dengan pihak pengguna dan menganalisis kebutuhan berdarsarkan fakta dan dimensi. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini berupa skema data warehouse yang telah didesain sesuai dengan keinginan pengguna yang didapatkan dari hasil wawancara dan rancangan proses exstract, transform dan load (ETL).
English Abstract
Data warehouse is a bunch of data which has the characteristics of oriented subject, integrated, time-variant and nonvolatile on the data collection to support the decision-making process. Besides, using Data warehouse, the data can be organized well to query analysis and as material for processing the transactions. In the development process of Data Warehouse, there are several steps which are the project planning phase, the definition of business needs, deployment, maintenance and growth. From several steps, the definition of business needs phase is considered as the most important stage because at this stage all the needs of warehouse data will be determined. After that, it will be held model design of multidimensional schema Data Warehouse which will become a guide for the developers in deployment stage. User driven approach is one of approaches that can be used to obtain the business needs of a company or institute that will implement the data warehouse. In the process, this approach consists of four phases namely interview users, an analysis of interview results, business questions and need analysis based on the fact and dimensions. This research will be conducted the application of user driven approach at the academic of computer science faculty of Brawijaya University (FILKOM UB). The first step, the researchers will be determined anyone who should be interviewed to acquire the data warehouse needs that really valid relating to the academic of computer science faculty of Brawijaya University. Furthermore, it will be conducted to analyze the interview results, formulate the business questions from the interview result of the users and analyze the needs based on the fact and dimensions. The final result of this research is data warehouse scheme which is designed compatible with the user wishes based on the interview result and exstract process design, transform and load (ETL).
