Abstract
Untuk menyebarkan informasi kehilangan barang di lingkungan kampus, sebagian besar mahasiswa Universitas Brawijaya menempelkan kertas informasi tersebut ke tembok-tembok atau papan pengumuman. Alternatif lain yang digunakan adalah dengan memanfaatkan media sosial seperti facebook dan twitter yang lebih mempermudah peyebaran informasinya. Akan tetapi kedua cara tersebut kurang efektif karena cara pertama belum tentu mendapat perhatian dari pembaca sedangkan cara kedua informasi yang diberikan akan dengan cepat tertimpa oleh status-status pada sosial media tersebut. Pada skripsi ini ditunjukkan alternatif penyebaran berita kehilangan yaitu dengan membangun sebuah aplikasi lost and found berbasis website. Sistem yang ditujukan untuk mahasiswa UB ini, memanfaatkan layanan BAIS (Brawijaya Authentification and Identification System) yang memungkinkan penggunaan single sign on untuk aplikasi dalam domain UB. Hanya pengguna yang otentik yang dapat menggunakan layanan aplikasi lost and found. Setelah sistem berhasil dibangun, selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian validasi dan penilaian berdasarkan feedback user. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan fungsi semua fitur 100% valid dan dapat berjalan sesuai yang diharapkan. Pengujian feedback dari user memberikan kesimpulan bahwa 83,3% user yang menggunakan Lost and Found merasa mudah dan membantu dalam penyebaran informasi.
English Abstract
For spread belongings lost information in campus, most student make an announcement by posting the news on the walls. Another alternative using by social media such as facebook or twitter, because it is easier to spread the information. but both of the way is not effective, because the first way is not sure get attention by people, the second way is information announced will stuck down by timeline or status in that media social In this thesis, it is adduced an alternative in the dispersion of news pertinent to lost belongings through establishing an application named LOST AND FOUND, which is web-based. The application, which is specifically devoted to internal use by students at Brawijaya University, makes use of BAIS service. This system enables the operationalization of single-sign-on for applications within the domain established at Braw University.only those having authentic authority can deploy the service included in LOST AND FOUND. After the application has been built, a test comprising of validation and evaluation based on users feedback is carried out. The outcome of the test evinces a 100% success on the whole feature of the application, convincingly indicating that the application can run as expected. The test by users feedback implies that 83.3% of the users trying-out LOST AND FOUND find the application easy to operate and helpful in dispersing information.
