Abstract
Pengendalian persediaan merupakan salah satu masalah yang dihadapi oleh perusahaan. Selama ini PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor Plant Tambun II dalam menjalankan proses produksinya sering mengalami permasalahan pada persediaan komponen. Permasalahannya yang sering dihadapi PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor Plant Tambun II yakni sering mengalami kekurangan persediaan komponen. Kekurangan tersebut mengakibatkan proses produksi terhenti, karena pengendalian persediaan yang kurang baik. Metode pengendalian persediaan yang dibandingkan dalam penelitian ini yakni metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) dan metode kanban. Metode EOQ dimulai dengan menghitung kuantitas pemesanan, safety stock, Reorder Point, stok persediaan maksimal dan stok persediaan rata-rata. Metode kanban dimulai dengan menghitung jumlah kartu kanban yang dibutuhkan, kuantitas yang diwakili satu kanban, stok persediaan maksimal dan stok persediaan rata-rata. Kemudian, dilanjutkan dengan mengkomparasi total inventory cost kedua metode. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa metode EOQ lebih baik daripada metode kanban. Perbandingan total inventory cost pada metode kanban sebesar Rp. 19.800.000 lebih besar daripada total inventory cost pada metode EOQ hanya sebesar Rp. 2.800.000. Karena menggunakan prinsip zero inventory, tingkat stok persediaan pada metode kanban lebih baik daripada metode EOQ. Namun tingginya ongkos pesan, metode kanban menjadi kurang efisien. Untuk dapat menerapkan metode kanban, perusahaan harus menekan biaya pemesanan menjadi Rp. 46.969, dengan mengembangkan sistem keiretsu dan kemitraan dengan supplier.
English Abstract
Inventory control is one of the problems that often occur in the company. Running the production processes, PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor Tambun Plant II often encounter problems in component inventory. Component inventory have varying level of stock and reflects shortage frequently. The shortage affects the production processes stalled, since poor inventory control. This study compares two inventory control methods, consist of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method and kanban method. The EOQ method calculates order quantity, safety stock, reorder point, maximum inventory stock and average inventory stock. The kanban method calculates the number of kanban, lot size each kanban, maximum inventory stock and average inventory stock. Then, this study compares total inventory cost each method. The result declares that the EOQ method is better than kanban method. Total inventory cost of kanban method is Rp. 19,800,000 and more expensive than total inventory cost of EOQ method that is only Rp. 2,800,000. According the principle of zero inventory, inventory stock levels of kanban method should be better than the EOQ method. Due to high setup cost, the kanban method becomes less efficient. To apply kanban method, the company must reduce setup cost for Rp. 46,969 by providing the keiretsu system and improving partnerships with suppliers.
