Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan hutan mangrove terbesar , dengan prosentase mencapai 27 % dari luas mangrove dunia serta 75 % dari total mangrove di Asia Tenggara. Namun konversi lahan mangrove menjadi lahan tambak, perumahan, industri, serta eksploitasi berlebihan terhadap ekosistem ini menyebabkan keberadaan ekosistem mangrove di Indonesia semakin terkikis tiap tahunnya. Kecenderungan penurunan dan kerusakan tersebut diidentifikasi oleh Departemen Kehutanan pada tahun 2003 mencapai 200 ribu Ha/tahun. Kabupaten Probolinggo sebagai salah satu daerah pesisir dengan potensi bakau yang cukup baik, sedang merencanakan pengembangan kawasan baru berupa zonasi ruang terbuka hijau yang nantinya selain sebagai wilayah konservasi mangrove juga sebagai areal ekowisata yang diharapkan bisa memberi dampak positif bagi masyarakat terutama disisi ekonomi. Belakangan dalam upaya merehabilitasi dan mengkonservasi suatu areal ekositem mangrove, beberapa daerah telah mengembangkan sebuah tata pengelolaan lahan berwujud ekowisata. Ekowisata secara konsep adalah model pariwisata yang tidak hanya ramah lingkungan, tetapi juga sekaligus berbasiskan budaya serta memberikan keuntungan secara ekonomi bagi masyarakat. Muatan ekologi dalam sebuah areal wisata sangat erat kaitanya dengan implementasi sustainable development dalam arsitektural. Dimana didalamnya akan sangat berperan implementasi ekologi arsitektur dengan misi pemeliharaan dan konservasi alam. Oleh karena itu ekowisata menjadi salah satu agenda serius pengembangan pariwisata Indonesia ke depan. Dan seiring dengan mendesaknya kebutuhan untuk mengkonservasi dan merehabilitasi mangrove di wilayah Kabupaten Probolinggo, maka perlu disediakan fasilitas untuk mempertahankan dan melestarikan ekosistem hutan mangrove yang ada saat ini yang tidak hanya memiliki fungsi konservasi namun memberi manfaat dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekonomi, pendidikan, dan juga ekologi.

English Abstract

Indonesia is one of nations having the largest mangrove forest which percentage reaches 27 % out of mangrove in the world, even 75 % out of mangrove in Southeast Asia. Yet, conversion of mangrove into ponds, residential areas, industries and also over exploitation of this ecosystem causes the decreasing of mangrove existence in Indonesia every year. Tendency of the decreasing and the damage identified by Forestry Department in 2003 reached 200 thousands Ha/year. Probolinggo regency, as one of coastal areas with potentially having quite good mangrove, is going to develop a new area in form of green zone which later it not only becomes mangrove conservation area, but also eco-tourism that hopefully can give positive impact for people, especially for economic sector. Recently in order to rehabilitate and to conserve a mangrove ecosystem, some regions have developed a management system as eco-tourism. Eco-tourism in concept is a tourism model which is not only eco-friendly, but also cultural based, and it gives economic benefits for the society. Ecology factor of a tourism area is closely related to the implementation of architectural sustainable development in which it gives much contribution for architectural ecology and the mission of maintenance and conservation of nature. Therefore eco-tourism becomes one of serious program of tourism development in Indonesia in the future. Moreover, as the urgency of the needs to conserve and to rehabilitate mangrove in Probolinggo regency, it is necessary to provide facilities for maintaining and conserving the existing mangrove ecosystem which is not only having function of conservation, but also giving benefits to keep the balance of economy, education, and ecology sector.
