Abstract
Persaingan di dunia industri semakin meningkat seiring dengan munculnya para pelaku bisnis di berbagai bidang. Salah satu bentuk persaingan industri yang mendominasi akhir-akhir ini adalah Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM). Secara umum UMKM memiliki kedudukan yang sangat potensial dalam perekonomian nasional. Akan tetapi, realita yang terjadi UMKM belum mampu bersaing dengan sektor industri berskala besar. Karena UMKM belum mampu menghasilkan produk yang standar antara satu produk dengan produk yang lain. Selain itu, konsumen dewasa ini sangat teliti dalam hal kualitas produk baik secara fungsi dan tampilan maupun keramahannya terhadap lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD). Metode ini digunakan untuk merencanakan dan mengembangkan produk kendang jimbe secara terstruktur dengan harapan dapat memenuhi keinginan dan kebutuhan konsumen. Selain itu, penelitian ini menambahkan cara mengurangi dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh kegiatan produksi kendang jimbe. Sehingga harapannya produksi kendang jimbe akan terus berkarya tetapi tetap memperhatikan lingkungan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, didapatkan alternatif konsep produk kerajinan kendang jimbe yang sesuai dengan keinginan konsumen, dan mempertimbangkan dampak lingkungan yang ditimbulkannya. Konsep produk baru yang diusulkan memakai kayu nangka, penambahan fitur pegangan (handle), dan memakai tali dengan warna yang bervariasi, serta variasi desain kendang jimbe yang lebih beragam khususnya pada pemberian motif. Konsep baru meberikan selisih biaya produksi sebesar Rp 1.555,00 dari konsep lama. Hal ini dikarenakan pengurangan biaya kayu sebesar Rp 1.855,00 dan penambahan biaya dalam penggunaan tali sekitar Rp 300,00. Atribut lain yang perlu diperhatikan adalah ketahanan kendang jimbe terhadap serangan serangga atau jamur dan pemberian motif pada badan kendang jimbe. Perlakuan untuk mengurangi dampak negatif lingkungan sangat penting, seperti optimisasi dalam penggunaan bahan baku dan penggunaan alat-alat pada saat kegiatan produksi. Selain itu, penggunaan alat pelindung diri sangat diperlukan untuk menghindari dampak buruk terhadap tubuh pekerja.
English Abstract
The competition in industrial sector is rising along with the appearance of new comer in various business fields. Nowadays, a form of competitors that dominates the industrial competition are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In general, MSMEs have a potential position in the national economy growth. However in the real world, these days MSMEs have not been able to compete with large-scale industry sector yet, because MSMEs weren’t able to make standarize products. Beside that, nowadays the consumer is very careful in considering product quality. They consider to product function, feature, and its environmentally. This research will discuss the implementation of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methods. This method was used for planning and developing products of jimbe drums structurelly. So it can satisfy costumer’s hope and needs. Beside that, this research adding how to reduce the environmental effect from jimbe drums production activity. So, the production of jimbe drums will produce continuously but still considering the environment. Based on the analysis, a new alternative design was gotten that fulfill customer’s needs and satisfaction, also environment-friendly product. New product concept applies jackfruit wood as jimbe drums core material, feature addition of grip to make it easier to handle, varied colors of straps and variant aesthetic modification exterior especially through jimbe drums motive. New product concept gave production cost less Rp1555.00 than existing concept due to the cost reduction in wood material for about Rp1855.00 and the incremental cost in usage of rope around Rp300.00. Other attributes to be concerned about are the resistance of jimbe drum against insect or fungal attack and also its carved motives. Treatment in the production terms of jimbe drums is very important to reduce and contend with the negative environment impact issues. This treatment such as using materials and production tools effectively. Beside that, using safety tools is very important to attend negative effect in worker’s body.
