Abstract
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan level optimal penambahan choline chloride dalam pakan terhadap kualitas internal telur yang meliputi indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, Haugh Unit (HU), skor warna kuning telur, dan kolesterol kuning telur. Materi penelitian adalah ayam petelur Lohman brown berumur 45 minggu berjumlah 100 ekor. Penelitian dilakukan selama 35 hari, dengan masa adaptasi pakan selama 7 hari. Kandang yang digunakan adalah kandang battrey dengan ukuran 30 x 30 x 40 cm dan setiap petak kandang diisi 1 ekor ayam. Pakan basal yang digunakan adalah pakan lengkap (complete feed) produksi PT. Cargill Indonesia Tbk. (TOP 36). Pakan perlakuan yang digunakan antara lain : P0 = Pakan basal tanpa penambahan choline chloride, P1 = Pakan basal + 750 mg/kg, P2 = Pakan basal + 1500 mg/kg, dan P3 = Pakan basal + 2250 mg/kg. Metode penelitian terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dari Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa choline chloride sebagai aditif dalam pakan memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, Haugh Unit (HU), skor warna kuning telur, dan kadar kolesterol kuning telur. Penambahan choline chloride sebanyak 1500 mg/kg pakan basal (P2) memberikan pengaruh paling baik yaitu indeks putih telur 0,077±0,014, indeks kuning telur 0,451±0,006, Haugh Unit (HU) 85,043±4,903, skor warna kuning telur 7,444±0,351, dan kolesterol kuning telur 218,406±0,513. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan disimpulkan bahwa penambahan choline chloride sebagai additive dalam pakan ayam petelur fase layer tidak meningkatkan indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, Haugh Unit (HU), skor warna kuning telur, dan kolesterol kuning telur. Penambahan choline chloride sebanyak 1500 mg/kg pakan basal (P2) memberikan pengaruh paling baik dalam meningkatkan kualitas internal telur.
English Abstract
This research aimed to evaluate the effect of choline chloride as a feed additive on internal quality of eggs in laying hens. The materials used in this experiment were 100 laying hens aged 45 weeks. Feeds were used commercial concentrate TOP 36 produced by PT. Cargill Indonesia and choline chloride. The treatments were addition of choline chloride 0 mg/kg (P0); 750 mg/kg (P1); 1500 mg/kg (P2); and 2250 mg/kg (P3). Each treatment was repeated five times. Variables measured were of albumen index, yolk index, Haugh Unit (HU), yolk color, and yolk cholesterol. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) of the Completely Random Design (CRD) and followed by Duncans Multiple Range Test (DMRT). This results showed that addition of choline chloride in laying hens had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on albumen index, yolk index, Haugh Unit (HU), yolk color, and yolk cholesterol. The addition of choline chloride as much as 1500 mg/kg of feed control (P2) gave the best effect on , albumen index 0.077±0.014, yolk index 0.451±0.006, Haugh Unit (HU) 85.043±4.903, yolk color score 7.444±0.351, and yolk cholesterol 218.406±0.513. It can be concluded that the addition of choline chloride as an additive in feed of laying hens does not increase the albumen index, yolk index, Haugh Unit (HU), yolk color, and yolk cholesterol.
