Rizki, SiscaDwi (2014) Pemanfaatan Tepung Rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa Linn) Dalam Pakan Terhadap Penampilan Produksi Pada Burung Puyuh (Coturnix-Coturnix Japonica). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
The study aimed to determine effect of rosella flour in quail feed towards production performance which included feed consumption, body weight, feed conversion, and meat cholesterol. The material were 120 female quails of 14 days to 35 days. “BR 1” was used as quail feed. The treatments included P0: basal feed, P1: basal feed+0.5 % rosella flour, P2: basal feed+1 % rosella flour, P3: basal feed+1.5 % rosella flour. The method used experiment with completely randomized design (CDR) alloted to four treatments, six replications with five quails of each replication. The variables were feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion and meat cholesterol. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Result showed that the addition of rosella flour has a similar effect on feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. The inclusion of rosella powder in quail feed with a sort proportion namely 0 %, 0.5 %, 1 %, 1.5 % indicated an level cholesterol of 88.13 mg/100 g, 83.59 mg/100 g, 79.07 mg/100 g, 77.19 mg/100 g respectively. It is suggested that the utilization of rosella flour at 0.5 % level have an equal production performance on feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. It needs the following study about the utilization of rosella less than 0.5 % level on quail feed.
