Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh lama pencahayaan dan intensitas cahaya pada konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan burung puyuh Jepang. Manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan pertimbangan pada pencahayaan dan daya lampu untuk meningkatkan performa burung puyuh. Bahan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 135 ekor Day Old Quail (DOQ) puyuh betina Jepang dengan berat badan rata-rata 6,26 ± 0,52 g / ekor, kandang baterai, pakan dari PT Charoen Phokphan 511, lampu bohlam 5, 10 dan 15 watt, peralatan lainnya, vitamin dan desinfektan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial. Variabel yang diukur adalah konsumsi pakan, berat badan, dan konversi pakan, sedangkan perlakuan yang digunakan terdiri dari 2 faktor, faktor pertama adalah periode panjang pencahayaan selama 4, 8 dan 12 jam. Sedangkan faktor kedua adalah daya lampu terdiri dari 5, 10, dan 15 watt. jika ada pengaruh yang signifikan akan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa panjang cahaya pencahayaan dan daya lampu secara signifikan meningkatkan konsumsi pakan, sedangkan berat badan dan konversi pakan secara signifikan dipengaruhi oleh lama pencahayaan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan 4 jam pencahayaan dengan lampu 5 watt bohlam akan meningkatkan kinerja puyuh.
English Abstract
This research was aimed to study the effect of duration of lighting and light intensity on feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio of Japanese quail. The benefit of this research was to provide consideration on lighting and power of lights to improve the performances of quail. The materials used on this research were 135 female Day Old Quail (DOQ) Japanese quail with average body weight of 6.26 ± 0.52 g/bird, battery cages, feed of PT Charoen Phokphan 511, power lights 5, 10 and 15 watts, other equipments, vitamins and disinfectant. The method used was experiment arranged in Factorial Completely Randomized Design. The variables measured were feed intake, body weight, and feed conversion, while the treatments used were 2 factors, the first factor was the lenght lighting period for 4, 8 and 12 hours. While the second factor was the lamp power of 5, 10, and 15 watts. if there were significant influence it would be tested by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed of the research showed that light length of lighting and power significantly improved feed consumption, while body weight and feed conversion were significantly influenced by length of lighting. It is concluded that the use of 4 hours lighting with 5 watts bulb lamp would improve quail performances.
