Abstract
Pengambilan data di lapang berlangsung pada tanggal 21 Februari sampai dengan 10 April 2013, di Desa Ampeldento Kecamatan Karangploso Kabupaten Malang dan analisis kandungan bahan pakan dilakukan di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan level optimal penggunaan choline chloride dalam pakan terhadap penampilan produksi burung puyuh diantaranya konsumsi pakan, produktivitas telur, konversi pakan, efisiensi pakan, dan IOFC. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan berguna dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan yaitu memberikan informasi mengenai pengaruh dan level optimal penggunaan choline chloride dalam pakan terhadap penampilan produksi burung puyuh.
English Abstract
The purpose of this research was to find out optimum level of influence and use of choline chloride in feed on quail production performance including feed intake, egg production, feed conversion, feed efficiency, and Income Over Feed Cost. Quails was used for research pullet (30 days old), as many as 96 birds with each unit consisted of four birds. Feed was used commercial concentrated and choline chloride. The treatment of feed were 0 mg/kg (P 0 ); 750 mg/kg (P 1 ); 1500 mg/kg (P 2 ); and 2250 mg/kg (P 3 ). Each treatment was repeated six times. The variables were measured feed intake, Hen Day Production (HDP), feed conversion, feed efficiency, and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance of the Completely Random Design (CRD) and if between treatment showed significant effect were analysed by Duncans Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The addition of choline chloride in feed did not significant effect on feed intake, HDP, feed convertion, feed efficiency, and IOFC. The addition of choline chloride at 1500 mg/kg showed the best result of feed intake (24,75±0,50 g/head/day); HDP (87,50±9,54 %); feed conversion (2,77±0,56); feed efficiency (38,06±10,81 %); and IOFC (Rp 8,53±7,71/g). It can be concluded that the addition of choline chloride 1500 mg/kg in feed can improve perfomance egg production, feed efficiency, IOFC, feed conversion but decrease feed intake.
