Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan di desa Belung, kecamatan Poncokusumo, kabupaten Malang, provinsi Jawa Timur yang dimulai pada bulan November-Desember 2012. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui respon cekaman yang diterima sapi Limpo di daerah dataran tinggi dengan penambahan pakan tambahan berupa konsentrat. Materi yang digunakan adalah 10 ekor sapi peranakan Limousin (Limpo) betina dara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode percobaan disertai pengamatan secara langsun. Pengamatan HTC dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pemberinan konsentat pada waktu suhu lingkungan yang paling tinggi. Nilai HTC dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus Benezra Coefficient . Hasil penghitungan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata frekuensi pernafasan pada sapi Limpo sebelum dan sesudah diberi konsentrat masing-masing sebesar 27,5 dan 28,6 kali/menit. Rata-rata suhu tubuh sebelum dan sesudah diberi konsentrat masing-masing sebesar 38,4 °C dan 38,7 °C. Rata-rata nilai HTC pada sapi Limpo sebelum dan sesudah diberi konsentrat masing-masing sebesar 2,20 dan 2,25. Kesimpulan bahwa Pemberian pakan tambahan berupa konsentrat pada sapi Limpo betina dara di daerah dataran tinggi Poncokusumo tidak berbeda nyata, hal ini ditandai dengan nilai HTC pada sapi Limpo yang tidak mengalami penurunan.

English Abstract

This research was conducted in Belung village, Poncokusumo district, Malang regency. The aimed of this research to know stress response received by crossbred limousin in the uplands with the addition of supplementary concentrate feed. The material used was 10 crossbred limousin heifers. The methods used was experimental. HTC observations made before and after given concentrate at the highest ambient temperature. The analysis show the frequency of respiratory rate crossbred limousin feed concentrate is higher than before given concentrates. The analysis showed that the cows body temperature after being concentrated crossbred limousin is higher than cows body temperature before being concentrated in crossbred limousin. The analysis showed that the female HTC of crossbred limousin before and after given concentrate are the same. Based on these results it can be concluded that the addition of concentrates to cows in the highlands Limpo Poncokusumo has not been able to reduce stress.
