Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 10 Juni sampai dengan 28 Juli 2007 di peternakan milik Bapak Ardi Wisuku desa Dukuh kecamatan Ngadiluwih kabupaten Kediri. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh varietas itik dan kepadatan kandang serta interaksinya terhadap persentase karkas, lemak abdominal, dan kandungan protein daging. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dan informasi tentang kepadatan kandang yang sesuai pada itik Mojosari dan itik MA (persilangan itik Mojosari jantan dan Alabio betina) untuk mendapatkan bobot karkas yang optimal, lemak abdominal yang rendah, dan kandungan protein daging yang tinggi. Materi penelitian adalah Day Old Duckling (DOD) jantan itik Mojosari sebanyak 84 ekor dan Day Old Duckling (DOD) jantan itik MA sebanyak 84 ekor dengan bobot badan awal itik Mojosari jantan 42,57±0,66 gram/ekor dengan koefisien keragaman sebesar 1,548 persen dan bobot badan awal itik MA jantan 46,58±0,67 gram/ekor dengan koefisien keragaman sebesar 1,432 persen. Metode penelitian yang dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial (2x4), faktor I adalah varietas itik (a), terdiri dari itik Mojosari (a1)dan itik MA (a2). Faktor II adalah kepadatan kandang (b) yang terdiri dari empat level yaitu 4 ekor/m2 (b1), 6 ekor/m2 (b2), 8 ekor/m2 (b3), 10 ekor/m2 (b4), terdapat 8 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Variabel yang diamati adalah bobot karkas, lemak abdominal dan kandungan protein daging. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan jika hasil menunjukkan perbedaan pengaruh yang nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi varietas itik dan kepadatan kandang memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P< 0,01) terhadap kandungan protein dengan nilai tertinggi 21,824 ± 0,81 persen pada itik Mojosari kepadatan 8 ekor/m2 . Varietas itik memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang nyata (P< 0,05) terhadap bobot karkas dan lemak abdominal dengan nilai bobot karkas tertinggi 733,4 ± 55,16 gram/ekor pada itik MA dan nilai lemak abdominal terendah 22,75 ± 4.93 gram/ekor pada itik Mojosari. Kepadatan kandang memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang nyata (P< 0,05) terhadap bobot karkas dan sangat nyata (P< 0,01) terhadap lemak abdominal dengan nilai bobot karkas tertinggi 746,2 ± 34,91gram/ekor pada kepadatan 6 ekor/m2 dan nilai lemak abdominal terendah 21,585 ± 2,13 pada kepadatan 10 ekor/m2. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian menunjukkan itik Mojosari pada kepadatan 8 ekor/m2 mempunyai kandungan protein daging tertinggi. Bobot karkas dan lemak abdominal itik MA lebih tinggi dari pada itik Mojosari. Bobot karkas dan lemak abdominal tertinggi terdapat pada kepadatan 6 ekor/m2. Disarankan untuk memelihara itik potong menggunakan itik persilangan Mojosari dengan Alabio atau MA pada kepadatan 6 ekor/m2.

English Abstract

The research was carried out in CV. Kuda Hitam Perkasa in Dukuh Village, Ngadilumih subdistrict, kediri city since June 10th until July 28th 2007. The aim was to explained the effect of duck variety i.e. Mojosari and crossing between Mojosari male duck and Alabio female duck (MA) and carrying capacity on carcass weight, abdominal fat and meat protein content meat. Result expected could give more information and consideration about duck variety and carrying capacity that could give the optimum production. The research material was 84 male of Day Old Duckling (DOD) Mojosari duck with the average body weight was 42,57 ± 0,659 g/duck, 1,548% in coefficient varians and 84 male of Day Old Duckling (DOD) of MA with average body weight was 46,58 ± 0,667 g/duck, 1,432% in coefficient varians. The research method was experiment that arranged with factorially (2x4) Randomized Complete Design. First factor was duck variety (a) that consist Mojosari duck (a1) and MA duck (a2). Second factor was carrying capacity (b) that consist of four levels were 4 ducks/m², 6 ducks/m², 8 ducks/m², 10 ducks/m². There was eight combination and three replications. Variables that has been measured were carcass weight, abdominal fat and meat protein content. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and if there significant difference would be continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result of the research indicated that interaction between duck variety and carrying capacity had highly significant difference effect (P< 0,01) on meat protein content with the highest was 21,824 ± 0,81 persen/duck for Mojosari duck on carrying capacity 8 ducks/m2. Duck variety had significant difference effect (P< 0,05) on carcass weight and abdominal fat, with the highest carcass weight was 733,4 ± 55,16 gram/duck for MA duck and the lowest abdominal fat was 22,75 ± 4.93 gram/duck for Mojosari duck. Carrying capacity had a significant difference effect (P< 0,01) on carcass weight and highly significant difference effect (P< 0,01) on abdominal fat, with the highest carcass weight was 746,2 ± 34,91 gram/duck for cage density 6 ducks /m² and the lowest abdominal fat 21,585 ± 2,13 gram/duck for carrying capacity 10 ducks /m². The conclusion of this research indicated that Mojosari duck on carrying capacity 8 ducks/m2 the highest meat protein content. Carcass weight and fat abdominal for MA duck higher than Mojosari duck. Carcass weight and fat abdominal highest on carrying capacity 6 ducks/m². It’s recommended to meat duck use MA duck carrying capacity 6 ducks/m².
