Abstract

Salah satu penyumbang sedimen di bendungan Karangkates ialah Sub DAS Lesti yang merupakan bagian hilir DAS Brantas. Wilayah Sub DAS Lesti salah satunya ialah Dampit. Pertambahan jumlah penduduk di Dampit mempengaruhi adanya alih guna lahan hutan menjadi lahan pertanian. Alih guna lahan hutan menjadi lahan pertanian pada umumnya menyebabkan turunnya fungsi hidrologi hutan. Salah satu fungsi hidrologi hutan adalah sebagai pengendali dan penyerapan air hujan yang jatuh ke permukaan tanah, sehingga mencegah terjadinya erosi dan limpasan permukaan tanah. Alih guna lahan yang tidak sesuai dengan kemampuan lahan akan menyebabkan peningkatan laju erosi dan limpasan permukaan (run off) (Sulistyaningrum dkk., 2015). Salah satu penyebab tingginya sedimentasi di bendungan Karangkates ialah alih guna lahan. Pengelolaan lahan pertanian yang tidak bijaksana menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan tanah. Dampit memiliki sistem penggunaan lahan terbanyak ialah penggunaan lahan tegalan. Sistem tanam dan pengolahan tanah yang kurang sesuaidi Dampit menyebabkan terjadinya erosi dan limpasan permukaan meningkat. Kegiatan konservasi sangat dibutuhkan dalam hal ini, sehingga dilakukan evaluasi dengan penelitian pengaruh pengolahan lahan dan sistem tanam pada komoditas yang sering digunakan oleh masyarakat yaitu jagung dan ubi kayu terhadap limpasan permukaan dan erosi di Dampit.Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem tanam tumpangsari jagung dan ubi kayu terhadap limpasan permukaan dan erosi di Sub DAS Lesti. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Amadanom Tengah Kecamatan Dampit Kabupaten Malang Provinsi Jawa Timur pada bulan Februari 2016 sampai dengan bulan Juni 2016.Pengumpulan data melalui metode pengukuran erosi petak kecildengan melakukan pengukuran dan pengamatan variabel limpasan permukaan, erosi dan curah hujan pada setiap petak percobaan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 4 tipe petak percobaan dengan faktor pembeda sistem tanam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan sistem tanam dan curah hujan memberikan pengaruh terhadap nilai limpasan permukaan dan erosi. Nilai korelasi (r) antara curah hujan dengan erosi pada sistem tanam tumpangsari ialah 0,93. Nilai korelasi (r) antara curah hujan dengan limpasan permukaan pada sistem tanam tumpangsari ialah 0,91. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa curah hujan dengan limpasan permukaan dan erosi tanah memiliki hubungan yang sangat kuat satu dengan yang lainnya. Pengaruh sistem tanam dapat mempengaruhi besar kecilnya nilai limpasan dan erosi tanah.

English Abstract

One of the contributors to sediment in the Karangkates dam is the Lesti Sub-watershed which is part of the downstream of the Brantas watershed. One of the Lesti Sub-watersheds is Dampit. Population growth in Dampit affects the conversion of forest land to agricultural land. The conversion of forest land to agricultural land generally results in a decline in the forest hydrological function. One of the functions of forest hydrology is to control and absorb rainwater that falls to the surface of the soil, thus preventing erosion and runoff. Land use change that is not in accordance with the ability of the land will cause an increase in the rate of erosion and run off (Sulistyaningrum et al., 2015). One of the causes of high sedimentation in the Karangkates dam is land use change. Unwise agricultural land management causes soil damage. Dampit has the most land use system is land use land. Improper planting and tillage systems in Dampit cause erosion and increased surface runoff. Conservation activities are urgently needed in this regard, so that an evaluation of the research on the effects of land processing and cropping systems on commodities that are often used by the community are corn and cassava against surface runoff and erosion in Dampit. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of corn and cassava intercropping systems on surface runoff and erosion in the Lesti Sub watershed. This research was conducted in Amadanom Tengah Village, Dampit District, Malang Regency, East Java Province from February 2016 to June 2016. Data collection through small plot erosion measurement method by measuring and observing the variables of surface runoff, erosion and rainfall in each experimental plot. This research was carried out on 4 types of experimental plots with the planting system differentiating factor. The results of this study indicate differences in cropping and rainfall systems have an influence on the value of surface runoff and erosion. The correlation value (r) between rainfall and erosion in the intercropping system is 0.93. The correlation value (r) between rainfall and surface runoff in the intercropping system is 0.91. This proves that rainfall with surface runoff and soil erosion has a very strong relationship with one another. The influence of the cropping system can affect the size of the runoff and soil erosion.
