Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh umur bibit dan pemupukan N terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tebu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli 2014 – Februari 2015, bertempat di Desa Darungan, Kecamatan Tanggul, Kabupaten Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan bahan bibit SBP varietas BL yang telah berumur 45 hari, 60 hari dan 75 hari, serta pupuk N (pupuk N yang digunakan yaitu pupuk Urea). Model rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial (RAKF) yang terdiri 2 faktor, yaitu umur aklimatisasi bibit SBP (U) dan dosis pupuk Nitrogen (N). Umur aklimatisasi bibit SBP terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu (U1) Umur 45 hari, (U2) Umur 60 hari dan (U3) Umur 75 hari. Dosis pupuk N terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu (N1) 120 kg N ha-1 setara 266,7 kg ha-1 Urea, (N2) 160 kg N ha-1 setara 355,6 kg ha-1 Urea, (N3) 200 kg N ha-1 setara 444 kg ha-1 Urea. Percobaan terdiri atas 9 kombinasi perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan sehingga terdapat 27 satuan plot percobaan. Variabel-variabel yang diamati, yaitu terdiri dari pengamatan pertumbuhan dan pengamatan hasil produksi. Pengamatan pertumbuhan meliputi jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah anakan per rumpun, tinggi tanaman, panjang batang produksi, diameter batang, dan index klorofil. Pada pengamatan hasil produksi, pengamatan yang dilakukan adalah mengukur kadar nira atau brix dan taksasi lapang. Aplikasi penggunaan umur bibit yang berbeda tidak memberikan pebgaruh yang berbeda pada parameter yang diamati, kecuali pada panjang batang produktif dan diameter batang pada umur pengamatan 10 dan 11 BST. Aplikasi pemupukan N dengan dosis 200 kg ha-1 memberikan pengaruh terhadap panjang tanaman, panjang batang produktif dan index klorofil daun yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan dosis pemupukan 120 dan 160 kg ha-1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan umur bibit 60 hari dan pemupukan N 200 kg ha-1 dapat meningkatkan produktifitas tanaman tebu (Saccharum officinarum L.) dibandingkan dengan perlakuan yang lain. Kombinasi perlakuan umur bibit 60 hari dan pemupukan N 200 kg ha-1 dapat meningkatkan produkfitas sebesar 770,411 ku ha-1.

English Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is the main raw material in sugar production. Sugar is one of the essential needs are consumed by many people, so need more efforts in the improvement of crop production as its main raw material. Sugar production in Indonesia has not been able to fulfill domestic sugar consumption which is estimated at 5.7 million tonnes in 2014. Capability of domestic sugar production is estimated to only be able to reach 3.6 million tonnes (Ditjenbun, 2013). The government has done a variety of ways to increase the yield of sugarcane production in order to create self-sufficiency. One of the ways is to improve the quality of sugarcane seed and fertilizer with the right dose. Sugarcane nursery with Single Bud Planting techniques or SBP is breeding techniques adapted from coloumbia. This technique has several advantages, such as having a high degree of purity, has a uniform power of grows, the number of tillers produced more than conventional breeding systems (Litbang induk PTPN XI, 2013). The time needed for SBP breeding was 2.5 months before aclimatization in land. Costs incurred for treatment would be more expensive if takes a relatively long breeding time. Efforts that can be done to trim the breeding age is by giving the right dose of N fertilizer. N used by sugarcane in the vegetative phase to accelerate the process of root growth, bud formation, leaf formation and stem growth. N fertilizer given for sugar cane is needed more on the vegetative growth phase which will affect the production. The purpose of this research is to investigate the interaction between the different ages of seed acclimation with nitrogen fertilizer dosage in increase crop growth and production potential. The hypothesis of this research is the application acclimation age of SBP seed by administering a higher dose of N fertilizer will increase growth and crop production potential. This study was conducted in July 2014 until February 2015, located at Darungan Village, Tanggul District, Jember. The tools used include tractor, sickle, hoe, polybags, pottray, calipers, measure, chlorophyll meter (SPAD) and a measuring stick. The materials used in this research are the SBP seeds BL varities that has aged 1.5 months, 2 months and 2.5 months, and Nitrogen fertilizers (nitrogen fertilizers used are urea). The research used a factorial randomized block design (RAKF) consisting of 2 factors include SBP seedling acclimatization age (U) and nitrogen fertilizer (N). SBP seedling acclimatization age consists of 3 levels, (U1) age 1.5 months, (U2) Age 2 months and (U3) Age 2.5 months. N fertilizer dosage consists of 3 levels, (N1) 120 kg N ha-1 equivalent of 264 kg of urea, (N2) 160 kg N ha-1 equivalent of 348 kg of urea, (N3) 200 kg N ha-1 equivalent of 435 kg of Urea. Observations were made on plant age 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 BST (month after planting), with parameters of growth and yield observations. Observations of growth include the number of leaves, leaf area, number of tillers per hill, plant height, length of stem production, stem diameter and chlorophyll index. In observation of the production, observations made is to measure the levels of sap or Brix and field assessed. The data obtained will be analyzed using analysis of variance (F test) at 5% level. If there is a significant difference, then followed by LSD test at 5% level. The results showed treatment combination of seedlings 60 days and fertilization of 200 kg N ha-1 can the productivity increase of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) compared with other treatments. Treatment combination of seedlings 60 days and fertilization of 200 kg N ha-1 can improve perhaps productivity 770.411 ku ha-1 amounted.
