Abstract

Luas areal lahan perkebunan tebu di Unit PG Camming PTPN X total mencapai 10.000 ha dengan HGU (Hak Guna Usaha) yang diolah seluas 3.757 ha dan TR (Tebu Rakyat) 1.087 ha (Data Quality Control PG Camming, 2013). Dari luasan tersebut, maka sebagian besar pengolahan tanah dilakukan secara mekanis (traktor dan alat pengolahan tanah), khususnya pada lahan HGU. Perlu dilakukan pengolahan tanah yang tepat agar dapat mempertahankan kualitas fisik tanah sehingga membantu pertumbuhan tanaman dan kemantapan agregat tanah. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan kombinasi pengolahan tanah dengan penambahan bahan organik yang berasal dari residu berupa abu ketel dan blotong. Perlakuan tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi dalam memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah, khususnya kemantapan agregat tanah dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan tebu secara optimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pengolahan tanah dan pemberian bahan organik (blotong dan abu ketel) terhadap kemantapan agregat dan pertumbuhan vegetatif awal tanaman tebu. Penelitian dilaksanakan di perkebunan tebu Unit PG Camming, PTPN X, Bone, Sulawesi Selatan. Kegiatan analisis dilaksanakan di laboratorium fisika dan kimia tanah, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya. Perlakuan diatur menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 ulangan. Terdapat 5 perlakuan, yaitu K0 (Kontrol/plowing dua kali-harrowing-furrowing), K1 (kontrol-blotong dan abu ketel disebar), K2 (plowing-harrowing-furrowing-blotong dan abu ketel disebar), K3 (subsoiling dua kali-harrowing dua kali-furrowing-bltotong dan abu ketel disebar), dan K4 (subsoiling dua kali- harrowing dua kali-furrowing-abu ketel dan blotong dimasukkan dalam larikan). Pengamatan dilakukan pada 0, 3, 6, dan 9 MST (minggu setelah tanam). Analisis statistik menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) taraf 5% untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan. Apabila menunjukkan berbeda nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT 5%. Uji korelasi dan uji regresi untuk mengetahui hubungan dan keeratan antar variabel pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan subsoiling dua kali-harrowing dua kali-furrowing-blotong dan abu ketel dimasukkan dalam larikan (K4) mampu meningkatkan kemantapan agregat tanah dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lain. Selain itu, perlakuan K4 mampu meningkatkan tinggi tanaman tebu pada fase vegetatif awal dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lain. Peningkatan kemantapan agregat pada perlakuan subsoiling dua kali-harrowing dua kali-furrowing-blotong dan abu ketel dimasukkan dalam larikan (K4) diikuti dengan peningkatan tinggi tanaman tebu pada fase vegetatif awal.

English Abstract

The area of sugarcane plantations in Camming Sugar Factory Unit of PTPN X has total area of 10,000 ha with the land concession doped area of 3,757 ha and the farmers area 1,087 ha (Camming Sugar Factory Data Quality Control, 2013). Of the area, then most of the processing is done mechanically ground (tractors and tillage equipment), especially in the land concession. Tillage needs to be done right in order to hold the physical quality of the soil that help the growth of plants and the stability of soil aggregate. One of them use a combination of soil treatment with the addition of organic matter derived from residues such as boiler ash and filter cake. The treatment is expected to be a solution for improving the physical properties of the soil, especially soil aggregate stability and enhance the growth of sugarcane optimally. The purpose of this study was determining the effect of tillage and application of organic manures (filter cake and boiler ash) on aggregate stability and early vegetative growth of sugar cane. The experiment was conducted in a sugar cane plantation Camming Sugar Factory Unit, PTPN X, Bone, South Sulawesi. Analytical work carried out at the Laboratory of Soil Physics and Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University. Treatment is setted using randomized block design (RBD) with 3 replications. There are 5 treatment, namely K0 (control/plowing twice-harrowing -furrowing), K1 (control-filter cake and boiler ash spread), K2 (plowing- harrowing-furrowing-filter cake and boiler ash spread), K3 (subsoiling twice- harrowing twice-furrowing-filter cake and boiler ash spread), and K4 (subsoiling twice-harrowing twice-furrowing-filter cake and boiler ash put in the bolt). Observations were made at 0, 3, 6, and 9 WAP (weeks after planted). Statistical analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) level of 5% to determine the effect of treatment. If it showed significantly different it was continued by LSD test 5%. Correlation test and regression test are done to determine the relationship between variables and the influence of observations. The results showed that treatment subsoiling twice-harrowing twice-furrowing-filter cake and boiler ash put in the bolt (K4) is able to increase the stability of soil aggregates as compared to other treatments. In addition, treatment of K4 can improve height of sugarcane plant at early vegetative phase as compared to other treatments. Increased levels of aggregate stability in treatment subsoiling twice-harrowing twice-furrowing-filter cake and boiler ash put in the bolt (K4) is followed by an increase of sugarcane plant height at early vegetative phase
