Abstract

English Abstract

Sugar cane cultivation 864 varieties on the ground can cause the drain Jatikerto Alfisols nutrient soil. This is caused by the fertilizer plant sugar cane needs quite a lot. This resulted in decreased nutrient drain physical properties of soil and organic matter content of soil affect plant growth so that sugar cane varieties. The addition of organic matter to soil improvement alternatives without damaging the environment, one of which biochar. Biochar is oganic matter with high carbon and can be produced from biomass crops including sugar cane. The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the influence of residual biochar to soil physical properties improvement and soil organic matter content of Typic Hapludalfs sugarcane varieties plant growth as well as 864 during the vegetative and vegetative optimally with other organic fertilizers. This study is an experiment carried out at the Experimental Faculty of agriculture Jatikerto, Malang and in the laboratory of Soil physics and chemistry, Faculty of agriculture, University of Brawijaya in February up to July 2013. Studies using Random Design Group (RAK) with 6 treatments namely, control (P1), residues of NPK (P2), compost blotong residue (dose 30 t ha-1) (P3), wilk residue (dose 30 t ha-1), (P4 )biochar residues, bagas (dose of 30 t ha-1) (P5), and charcoal residues sugar factory without pyrolysis (a dose of 30 t ha-1) (P6) and three replicates. Data were analyzed with the analysis of the test range and when F 5% real then continued with test Duncan 5%. The observation parameters include heavy content, specific gravity, total porosity, soil organic matter, high, the number of chicks and the average circumference of the stem of the plant. The results showed that biochar residues treatment bagas 30 t ha-1 was able to increase the value of the aggregate stability of 1.01 mm and the value soil organic matter from 1.12% to 2.34% compared to other organic fertilizer treatment. Biochar residues also support the growth of the sugar cane plant varieties 864 during vegetative. Biochar has value is more effective in improving and maintaining the value of the organic matter and soil aggregate stability. But in some soil physical properties of biochar does not provide any real influence it is influenced by materials and time involved in decomposition.
