Kurniawan, BayuAdi (2013) Pengaruh Jumlah Pemberian Air Terhadap Respon Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Tembakau (Nicotiana Tabaccum L.). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) has a significant role in the national economy through customs and taxes, employment and the double impact (multiplier effect) procurement and trade in tobacco. The policy for Tobacco continued by the Indonesian government through the state plantation companies (PNP). Tobacco in East Java is a high-value commodity crops compared to other commodities. The main problem is the low quality due to the time of planting and the lack of proper water supply. Water is one of the physical components of a very important and needed in large quantities for the growth and development of the plant. Approximately 85-90% of the fresh weight of the cells and tissues of plants is high. Water serves as a solvent for nutrients, constituent protoplasm, the raw material of photosynthesis and so forth. Lack of water in the plant tissue can reduce cell turgor, increased concentrations of macro-molecules and affects the cell membrane and the potential chemical activity of water in plants . The purpose of this research is to study and compare the growth and result of tobacco plants with different watering intervals of total water demand normal tobacco plants. Research conducted in December 2012 - March 2013 at the experiment do at Jati Kerto farm of Brawijaya University in Malang, which is located at an altitude of 583 m above sea level. The design used was a randomized block design (RBD) 5 treatments with 5 replicates of water provision. Based on the provision of water to the treatment of tobacco plants, the highest result of the observation variable number of leaves, leaf area, leaf fresh weight and rate of plant growth occurs in P4 treatment, namely the provision of water 25% more than the normal amount of water requirement (100%). Results highest obtained in the observation variables thought to be due to the availability of water in the soil enough for the needs of the tobacco plant. So without the added amount of water is more, the crop water requirement is sufficient.
