Abstract

Semanggi air (Marsilea crenata) merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan air yang digunakan sebagai fitoestrogenik terapi karena mempunyai aktivitas mirip estrogen. Semanggi air mengandung alkaloid yang memiliki fungsi sebagai pengobatan namun juga dapat bersifat toksik apabila dosis yang diberikan terlalu tinggi. Tujuan penelitain ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun semanggi air (Marsilea crenata) terhadap kadar enzim SGOT dan SGPT serta gambaran histopatologi pada hepar. Hewan coba yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tikus Rattus novergicus betina berumur 8 bulan dengan berat badan rata-rata 200-250 gram. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Tikus di bagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu, kontrol (P0), perlakuan 1 (P1) diberiakan ekstrak daun semanggi dengan dosis 15mg/kgBB, perlakuan 2 (P2) 30 mg/kgBB, perlakuan 3 (P3) 45mg/kgBB dan perlakuan 4 (P4) 60mg/kgBB. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah perubahan kadar Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetyc Transaminase (SGOT) dan Serum Glutamic Piruvyc Transaminase (SGPT) serta perubahan histopatologi hepar tikus. Analisa data pengukuran kadar SGOT dan SGPT menggunakan one way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ α = 5%. Histopatologi hepar dianalisa secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan kadar SGPT/SGOT serta jumlah sel hepar yang mengalami nekrosis pada tikus yang diberikan ekstrak semanggi air. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ekstrak semanggi air (Marciella crenata) yang diberikan mulai dari dosis terendah yaitu 15 mg/KgBB dapat meningkatkan kadar SGPT dan SGOT serta nekrosis sel-sel hepar tikus yang diinduksi.

English Abstract

Water Clover (Marsilea crenata) is one of the water plants types that is used as phytoestrogenic therapy because it has effect of estrogen-like activity. Water clover contains alkaloids that could be functioned as a treatment but can also be toxic if the given dose is too high. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect water clover leafs for SGOT and SGPT enzyme levels along with the liver histopathology. The animals that were used in this study is an 8 months old female albino rats (Rattus norvegicus) with average weight at 250 gram. This research is an experimental research using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The rats were divided into 5 groups, there are control (P0), first treatment (P1) is given water clover leafs extract with a dose of 15mg/kg BW, second treatment (P2) using 30mg/kg BW, third treatment (P3) using 45mg/kg BW, and fourth treatment (P4) using 60mg/kg BW. Parameters that were analyzed in this research is the change in Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetyc Transaminase (SGOT) and Serum Glutamic Piruvyc Transaminase (SGPT) enzyme levels along with liver histopatology. SGOT and SGPT enzyme levels was analyzed by one way ANOVA and continued by Tukey test with the α = 5%. Histopathology of the liver was analyzed descriptively. The results showed an increase in SGPT and SGOT levels as well as the number of hepatic cells undergoing necrosis in rat given water clover extract. The conclusion of this study was a water clover extract given starting from the lowest dose of 15 mg/Kg BW could increase SGPT and SGOT levels as well as necrosis of rats liver cell in induced group.
