Abstract

Pengendalian vektor sangat berperan dalam pemberantasan penyakit DBD. Salah satu cara pengendalian vektor adalah menghambat daya tetas telur Aedes egypti. Daun jeruk purut mengandung senyawa saponin, tannin dan minyak atsiri. Kerusakan exochorion diduga diakibatkan oleh senyawa aktif yang terdapat pada ekstrak daun jeruk purut. Senyawa aktif tersebut memiliki kemampuan entomotoxicity, yaitu kemampuan untuk merusak telur melalui exochorionnya. Observasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ovicidal activity ekstrak n-heksana daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) terhadap telur nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Pengkajian ini menggunakan studi true experimental, dilakukan pada 150 telur nyamuk Aedes aegypti yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok I (air sumur), kelompok II kontrol positif menggunakan abate 10%, kelompok III menggunakan larutan ekstrak n-heksana daun jeruk purut dengan kosentrasi 0,5% ,kelompok IV (1%) Kelompok V (1,5%), dan kelompok VI (2%). Hasil studi menunjukkan dengan konsentrasi 2% mampu menghambat penetrasi telur aedes aegypti. Parameter yang diukur adalah jumlah telur yang rusak pada setiap kelompok perlakuan. Analisis data menggunakan metode Kruskal Wallis dilanjutkan Bonferoni test, menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak n-heksana daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) memiliki ovicidal activity terhadap telur nyamuk Aedes aegypti secara signifikan (p<0,05). Kesimpulan studi ini adalah ekstrak n-heksana daun jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) memiliki ovicidal activity terhadap telur nyamuk Aedes aegypti dengan konsentrasi 2%.

English Abstract

Aedes aegypti as a vector of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Vector control is important to eradication of DHF. One of the ways of vector control is to inhibit hatching eggs of Aedes egypti. Kaffir lime leaves contains saponins, tannins and essential oils. Exochorion damage was caused by the active compound contained in Kaffir lime leaves extract. The active compounds have the ability entomotoxicity, to damage the egg through exochorion. This study aims to determine the ovicidal activity of ethanol extract of Kaffir lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) against the eggs of Aedes aegypti. This research uses a true experimental study, applied in 150 eggs of Aedes aegypti were divided into six treatment groups. . Group I as a negative control using well water. Group II as a positive control using abate 10%. Group III using a solution of ethanol extract of kaffir lime leaves with a concentration of 0.5%. Group IV with a concentration of 1%. Group V with a concentration of 1.5%. Group VI with a concentration of 2%. Result shown with concentration 2% has ovicidal activity against eggs of Aedes aegypti The parameters measured were the number of eggs that unhatched in each treatment group. Data analysis using Kruskal Wallis followed Bonferoni test, showed that ethanol extract of Kaffir lime leaves rind has ovicidal activity against eggs of Aedes aegypti were significantly (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study is ethanol extract of Kaffir lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) has ovicidal activity against eggs of Aedes aegypti with concentration of 2%.
