Abstract
Neuropati merupakan salah satu komplikasi jangka panjang dari diabetes mellitus pada pembuluh darah kecil (mikroangiopati). Didapatkan 60,3% orang dengan diabetes mellitus mengalami komplikasi neuropati sensorik (Waspadji, 2015). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh senam kaki diabetes terhadap tingkat sensitivitas kaki pada responden dengan diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pre eksperimental design, dengan one group pretest-posttest design. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 25 orang penderita diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar obsevasi sensitivitas kaki. Analisis secara deskriptif dan uji statistik Wilcoxon. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sebelum dilakukan senam kaki, tingkat sensitivitasnya adalah 14,4±4.44. Setelah dilakukan intervensi berupa senam kaki sebanyak 3 kali dalam seminggu selama satu bulan, tingkat sensitivitasnya meningkat menjadi 17.32±3.21. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat sensitivitas kaki penderita diabetes tipe 2 sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan senam kaki diabetes dengan p value = 0,000, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa senam kaki diabetes efektif dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas kaki dan dapat digunakan sebagai terapi untuk mencegah terjadinya komplikasi jangka panjang pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2.
