Abstract
Appetite (nafsu makan) merupakan keadaan yang mendorong seseorang untuk memuaskan keinginan untuk makan selain rasa lapar. Ada banyak hal yang bisa menyebabkan anak tidak mau makan, antara lain akibat faktor nutrisi, faktor depresi ataupun adanya penyakit fisik yang timbul. Faktor nutrisi ditentukan berdasarkan kemampuan anak untuk mengkonsumsi makanan, memilih jenis makanan dan menentukan jumlah makanan. Anak-anak dalam kenyataannya mereka lebih memilih konsumsi jajanan diluar rumah atau disekolah yang kualitas gizinya belum terjamin. Mereka sering menolak untuk makan dirumah dan sebagai gantinya meminta uang saku untuk jajan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara pola konsumsi makanan jajanan dengan appetite (nafsu makan) pada anak usia sekolah 9-11 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pendekatan crossectional study yang menekankan pada waktu pengukuran data variable bebas dan terikat dalam waktu yang sama dan hanya menggambarkan asosiasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan menggunakan purposive sampling (n=66). Variabel yang di ukur adalah pola konsumsi makanan jajanan dengan appetite (nafsu makan) anak. Hasil penelitian ini adalah dari 66 responden yang memiliki pola konsumsi makanan jajanan tinggi yaitu sebanyak 26 responden (39,4%) dan appetite (nafsu makan) anak rendah sebanyak 35 responden (53,0%). Didapatkan nilai signifikansi<0,05 yaitu 0,000 yang menunjukkan bahwa korelasi antara pola konsumsi makanan jajanan dengan appetite (nafsu makan) anak adalah bermakna. Nilai Korelasi Spearman (r) sebesar -0,758 menunjukkan bahwa kekuatan korelasi (r) bersifat negatif dan berkekuatan kuat. Bersifat negatif berarti semakin tinggi pola konsumsi makanan jajanan maka akan semakin rendah appetite (nafsu makan) pada anak atau sebaliknya.
