Abstract
Lalat rumah (Musca domestica) merupakan jenis serangga parasit dan vektor penyakit patogen seperti tipoid, paratipoid, kolera, disentri, cacingan, dan diare. Usaha pengendalian lalat dilakukan dengan menggunakan insektisida sintetik namun dapat berdampak negatif bagi tubuh manusia. Rimpang kunyit banyak mengandung senyawa 1,8 cineole, curcumin, quercetin, eugenol dan diduga mempunyai potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi insektisida dekok rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa) terhadap lalat rumah (Musca domestica). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratoris menggunakan post test only control group design. Pengulangan dilakukan 4 kali pada 24 interval waktu yaitu jam ke-1, ke-2, ke-3, ke-4, ke-5, ke-6, ke-24. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 10 ekor lalat Musca domestica dewasa pada tiap perlakuan. Konsentrasi dekok rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa) yang digunakan 40%, 50%, 60%, kontrol negatif (aquades), dan kontrol positif (d-alethrin). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi 60% adalah konsentrasi yang paling efektif untuk membunuh lalat. Hasil uji Anova menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antar kelompok perlakuan (p<0.05). Hasil uji post-hoc menunjukkan dekok rimpang kunyit konsentrasi 60% mempunyai potensi yang sebanding dengan kontrol positif (d-alethtrin) pada jam ke-5 (p = 0,795). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah dekok rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa) mempunyai potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat Musca domestica menggunakan metode elektrik.
English Abstract
House flies is a type of parasites insect and pathogens vector such as typhoidal, paratipoid, cholera, dysentery, intestinal worms and diarrhea. Fly control efforts carried out by using synthetic insecticides, but it can give negatively affect for the human body. Turmenic rhizome (Curcuma longa) contains many compounds of 1,8 cineole, curcumin, quercetin, eugenol and thought to have potential as an insecticide againts adult flies. This study was experimental laboratory using the method of post test only group design. Repeatition performed four times at 24-hour time interval there was – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 24th hour. The samples used were 10 adult Musca domestica for each treatment. The concentration of turmenic rhizhome (Curcuma longa) used were 40%, 50%, 60%, a negative control (aquadest) and a positive control (dalethrin). The result showed the concentration of 60% is the most effective concentration to kill flies. Anova test results showed a difference among group (p<0.05). The result of post hoc test showed that 60% concentration of turmenic rhizome (Curcuma longa) has potential that is comparable to positive control (dalethrin) in the 5th hours (p = 0,795). The conclusion of this study is the turmenic rhizome (Curcuma longa) has potential as an insecticide against Musca domestica flies with electrical methods.
