Smoking Has Negative Effect To Active And Passive Smokers’ Health. There Are Many Diseases Caused By Smoking Such As Stroke, Cardiovascular Disease, Asthma, Cancer, And Impotence. The Mortality Rates Of Active Smokers Reach About 6 Millions Victims Every Year. Although Most Of Active Smokers Have Known About This Issue, They Do Not Have High Motivation To Quit Smoking. Indonesia Could Be Categorized As A Country Which Has High Number Of Active Smokers. It Is Noted That 62,4 Million Active Smokers Live In Indonesia. Unfortunately, Only 4% From Those Numbers Have High Motivation To Quit Smoking. Motivation To Quit Smoking Is Influenced By Many Factors. One Of Them Is The Perception Toward The Threat Of Negative Effects From Smoking Itself. This Study Aims To Define The Relationship Between Threat Perception And Motivation In Influencing People To Quit Smoking. 140 Active Smokers In PT. Sukses Mitra Sejahtera Kediri Were Used As The Respondents To Obtain The Data. Moreover, This Study Also Implemented Cross Sectional Design Method. To Test The Hypotheses, This Study Used SPSS Calculation With Spearman Analysis. The Result Of This Study Showed That There Was Significant And Positive Correlation Between Threat Perception And Motivation To Quit Smoking (P= 0,000; R= 0,527). From This Result, It Could Be Concluded That People With Higher Perception Toward The Threat Of Negative Effects From Smoking Would Have Higher Motivation To Quit Smoking.
