Dewi, KalinaRatna (2015) Hubungan antara Asupan Protein dengan Tekanan Darah pada Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) Suku Madura Penderita Tekanan Darah Tinggi di Kecamatan Kedungkandang Kota Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
High blood pressure is one of non-communicable disease (NCD) and known by term of silent killer as one of the causes of increased morbidity and mortality case. In America on year of 2009-2010, high blood pressure affected more women (84,9%) than men (79,6%) and increasing every year in women of reproductive age (18-44 years old). In 2013, the prevalence of high blood pressure in Indonesia amounted to 25,8% (28,8% female and 22,8% male). High blood pressure might be happened because of several factors, such as foods (diet) and Body Mass Index (BMI). One of the dietary factors that could influence blood pressure is protein intake. The aim of this study is to understand the correlation between protein intake and blood pressure of Madura tribal women of reproductive age in district Kedungkandang Malang. This study used observational analytic design with cross sectional approach. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling (n=47). Protein intake was measured using weighed food record method (WFR). Nutritional status were obtained from BMI measurements. Blood pressures were obtained from measurement using digital tensimeter. The analysis of data was using Spearman Rank and Pearson. The result of the study showed that there is no correlation between protein intake and sistolic and diastolic blood pressure (p=0,806, r=-0,037; p=0,111, r=0,235). There is no correlation between BMI and sistolic and diastolic blood pressure (p=0,166, r=0,206; p=0,240, r=-0,175). The conclusion of this study is that protein intake has no correlation with either sistolic or diastolic blood pressure. Recommendation can be given is there are controls needed during data collection so that no underreporting or overreporting happens
