Abstract

Resin akrilik heat cured sering dipakai sebagai bahan basis gigi tiruan, karena bahan ini memiliki sifat tidak toksik, tidak mengiritasi, tidak larut dalam cairan mulut, estetik baik, mudah dimanipulasi, mudah direparasi dan perubahan dimensi kecil. Namun resin akrilik ini masih memiliki sifat ketidakstabilan warna dan menyerap cairan rongga mulut yang berkorelasi dengan kemampuan organisme tertentu untuk berkolonisasi pada permukaannya. Perasan daun teh hijau (Camellia sinensis) mengandung tanin dan klorofil yang dapat menyebabkan perubahan warna pada resin akrilik. Penelitian eksperimental ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan warna yang terjadi pada lempeng akrilik heat cured setelah direndam dalam perasan daun teh hijau konsentrasi 0,5%, 2% dan 4% selama 15 hari. Sampel yang digunakan berupa lempeng akrilik heat cured berbentuk bulat berukuran 26mm x 1mm. Terbagi dalam 4 kelompok, dengan 1 kelompok kontrol dan 3 kelompok perlakuan dengan jumlah sampel masing masing 5 buah, sehingga total keseluruhan sampel 20 buah. Variabel yang diukur adalah perubahan warna lempeng akrilik heat cured yang diuji menggunakan alat spektrofotometer optik, fotosel tipe BPY-47 dan microvolt digital. Data hasil penelitian ini diuji dengan uji statistik menggunakan uji Oneway Anova dan uji HSD. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi perasan daun teh hijau (Camellia sinensis) yang signifikan terhadap perubahan warna lempeng akrilik heat cured. Hal ini dapat dijadikan pertimbangan pemakai gigi tiruan basis resin akrilik heat cured dalam membatasi konsumsi minuman teh hijau berlebihan karena akan mempengaruhi estetika gigi tiruannya

English Abstract

Heat cured acrylic resin is often used as a denture base material since this material has a non-toxic nature, not irritant, insoluble in oral fluids, good aesthetics, easily manipulated, easily repaired and minor dimensional changes. However acrylic resin still has properties of color instability and absorb oral fluids which correlates with the ability of certain organisms to colonize on the surface. On the other side, green tea leaf juice (Camellia sinensis) contains tannins and chlorophyll which can cause discoloration of the acrylic resin. This experimental study aimed to determine the color changes which can occur on heat cured acrylic plates after being submerged in green tea leaf juice concentration of 0.5%, 2% and 4% for 15 days. The sample used in this experimental research is formed in 26mm x 1mm circular heat cured acrylic plate and were divided into four groups, with one control group and three experimental groups with each group contains 5 plates and the total samples are 20 plates. The measured variable is discoloration of heat cured acrylic plate which is tested using optical spectrophotometer, photocell type BPY-47 and digital microvolt.The result data were tested by statistical test, using Oneway Anova test and HSD test. The conclusion from this study is, there is a significant effect of green tea leaf (Camellia sinensis) juice’s concentration against discoloration heat cured acrylic plate. Based in this research, a heat cured acrylic resin base denture wearer has to limit the excessive consumption of green tea because it will affect the aesthetics of the denture
