Abstract
Mangrove memanfaatkan karbon dioksida (CO2) di udara dengan cara fotosintesis yaitu dengan memanfaatkan CO2 di udara menjadi karbon organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis estimasi stok karbon organik dan perbedaan penyimpanan CO2 pada daun dan seresah daun pada Rhizophora mucronata kategori tiang, dengan metode survei dan penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di tiga lokasi dengan masing-masing tiga titik sampling untuk daun seresah. Analisa sampel dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu perhitungan biomassa dengan menggunakan total berat kering sampel, perhitungan karbon organik dan perhitungan simpanan CO2. Perhitungan karbon organik diperoleh hasil rata-rata pada daun sebesar 18,02 g/m2 dan seresah 11,41 g/m2. Selanjutnya hasil tersebut dimasukkan rumus Heriyanto dan Subiandono (2012) untuk mengetahui simpanan CO2. Nilai rata-rata simpanan CO2 pada daun sebesar 66,07 g/m2 sedangkan seresah 41,83 g/m2. Berdasarkan analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan uji t diperoleh hasil sig<α=0,05 sehingga tolak Ho. Oleh karena itu dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penyimpanan CO2 pada daun dan seresah daun berbeda dan daun sangat berperan penting dalam pengurangan emisi gas CO2 di atmosfer.
English Abstract
Mangrove is utilizing carbon dioxide (CO2 ) in the air for photosynthesis by making use of CO2 in air into organic carbon. This study aimed to analyze the organic carbon content and ratio of CO2 storage on leaves and leaf litter of Rhizophora mucronata of pole category, through survey method and the location determined by using purposive sampling method. The samples are taken three locations where as in every location there are three sampling points for leaves and leaf litter. Analysis of samples was done by several stages of the biomass calculation using the total dry weight of the sample, the calculation of organic carbon and the calculation of CO2 storage. The average value of carbon derived on the leaves was 18.02 g m2 and litter was 11.41 g/m2. Furthermore, these results included in formula from Heriyanto and Subiandono (2012) to determine CO2 storage. The average value of CO2 storage on leaves was 66.07 g/m2, and litter was 41.83 g/ m2. Based on data analysis was performed using the t test results obtained sig <α = 0.05 and it is meaning reject Ho.Therefore it can be concluded that the storage of CO2 in leaves and leaf litter were different and the leaves a very important role to reduce of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.
